this is an automated call looking for someone else...it asks if I am the person...press 1...If not press 2...
so I press 2 but nothing happens and they continue to call every day...

Yes, they call me everyday.  I called back but nobody answers the phone.  This is insane.

got a call from this number while i was at work.  no message.  didn't bother calling back.

They keep calling for someone who shares the last name.  It starts as an automated call, and when I pushed #3, which is for wrong number, a representative answered.  He would not identify who the caller or the caller company is!!!  My caller ID indicated it was from "Firesource Inv".  I looked it up, but did not find anything. We have listed our number for no telemarketing calls.  How can I stop this annoying calls.  We are receiving several calls each week!

I just got a call from this # and when i picked up . .they hung up after I heard a womans (recorded?) voice say Hello.

It's a collection agency for Bank of America. All of the agents are EXTREMELY RUDE!! Just ignore all calls, or have a friend answer and say "I just bought this phone and was given this number, I don't know who you are looking for."

I get a call from this number at least twice a day, but they will not leave a message. I havent answered becuase I'm not sure if it is a scam.

this is the type of thing you should report to your State Attorney General - esp if you are in a state with "NO CALL LISTS'- if you have never initiated business with them or requested anything from them then ask them to remove you from their list - then keep track if they keep calling and then report them -whatver you do -don't  give your SSN or birthday- if they have legitimate business with you they already have that info and shouldn't require that info to identify yourself - remember they are calling you so there is no responsilbilty on you to identify yourself!!
