Spam call asking for your credit card number

no not answer this call, it is a spam!

It was a recorded call claiming they were Wells Fargo - "we regret to inform you that your debit card  has been stolen" ..."please press one to be connected to our claims department"  IT'S A SCAM!!!!! i've known other people who have gotten this call also.  They want you to give them a card number so they can steal from you!  
Jokes on them - not only do I know this is a scam, but I don't even have an account at Wells Fargo!!  

I used to work in a financial institution, please spread the word - NEVER give out your credit card number to someone that calls you - it is not legitimate!

Definately Spam, pretends to be auto-message from Wells Fargo anyone who can better track this number and catch the frauders please do, I know of numerous people who have received these calls.

I received the call about WF Visa card that card is blocked and was asked to call certain phone nr. I don't have credit card with Wells Fargo. (WF). Got to be scam.

Just got the call, they are now claiming to be from VISA....

I got a call from this number too.  My instinct is that if it were really Wells Fargo, it wouldn't be a recording for something that important as having your card stolen.

I got this call at 3:34 pm CST on 10/20/2011.
The Latitude in scenic Riverdale when I hit recall.
But the garbled recording stated my xxxxx card had been breached and to hit buttons to reactivate my debit card.
I will not continue the scam but thought I'd post this.

Just got this call, 4:30pm, 10/20/2011 and they said they were from Visa and my card had been deactivated... to reactivate press 1... but I pressed end instead... glad to see these posts and realize it definitely was a scam.

received a call today at 3:58 pm telling me to press a certain key to reactivate my Visa card, they said there was a security breach , did not bother to do anything.

The computer inhanced voice asked for my 16 digit code, so hit sixteen zero's, then I made up an exploration date, then typed in "666" for my code and finally when it asked for my pin number I typed  in 6969. The voice then said, please wait while i verify your account and AFTER A SHORT PAUSE the voice said that my account numbers have been verified and I have nothing to worry about!!!

Just received this call literally 30 seconds after I checked my bank account on my ipod touch....coincidence? Maybe...maybe not.  Also after putting in some fake numbers over my cell phone to test these suckers out the automated dial tone recognition system they have set up was duplicating numbers like nobody's business and couldn't even get through 10 that I entered.  Call was from Rivendale condo's Phoenix etc. etc.... Long story short, just ignore doing any debit card/credit card stuff over the phone like most of the people are saying above and deal with it in person (if it's even legit).  Don't feel stupid if you fall for it though, as I will admit, for someone having a busy day and little time, the phone call may sound official.  Just call Wells Fargo or whoever your credit card provider is and ask them to verify this...if you were scammed, they will most likely transfer you to their FRAUDS services or something like that and it will be handled.

Got a call from this number too. Definitely a scam. I just came back from New York area and I guess my cell phone number is used by someone for this scam. Bad bad bad, I believe more will be calling my number for more scams.

I just received a call from this number saying the same things! I called my bank and they confirmed that it was not them and my debit card is just fine. Definitely a scam!

Just received a call at 10/21/2011 at 10:10 a.m. from this number stating "your VISA card has been deactivated because of illegal activity -- press 1 to reactive card" which of course I did not do.  I immediately googled the number and starting reading all these posts -- thank you everyone for reporting this scam.

At 10:15 AM on 10/21-11 I received a call from this number. The computer voice caller to  my cell said my VISA debit card had been deactivated because I used it at an ATM (garbled word) and to get it reactivated to press one to get a person. I knew it was a phony call because I don't have a VISA debit card - also only my family has this cell number.

10/21/2011 10:29am same thing... claimed my visa card was deactivated press 1 to transfer. I wanted to press 1 just to see what info they ask for but i didnt, just hung up

Just wondering did anybody else get this call on their Verizon Cell? Just got a call 10 min ago. They didn't say a bank name just that my Visa Debit card was deactivated.

Mine was on a Verizon cell as too and two others with Verizon cells got the same call within the last 24 hours.

At 11:55 AM on 10/21/11 - I just got this call as well.  I also do not have a VISA debit card, so I knew something was up.  I went through the menu for a little while, using fake numbers, just to see what they asked for.  It asked for debit card number, expiration date, 3-digit code on back of card, and pin number!  SCAM!
