My girlfriend picked up the phone.  The caller asked for me by first name, and said he would call back.  His name was Chris.

This number keeps calling, the line stays quiet, then a white noise like hairdryer or something and line goes dead. What gives?

I smell scam

I just get this call also and they want me to send money. That's a lot of bull. I say this is just one more scam and I hope the people doing it reads these post. I will be turning this over to the plice department along with a recording of the call as all my phone calls are recorded..

Received this call, his name is Chris and he will not leave a message about what the call is for.  The person he asked for was not home

This number keeps on calling our number, asking for the name the phone is in. They won't tell me who they are or let me take a message.

asking 4 money  i was called and this is what they ask $20

It is a bogus company soliciting money for some non existant police organization

I received a call with no one on it. I called them back and got a recording telling me they were some type of police organization and I would be hearing back from them soon

This company just called again while I was on another call; they had called me several times before
saying they are the Chief of Police asking for donations! I use FIOS and cant block this call.

This is a SCAM! Everyone CALL the Police & report them!

I got a phone call from this number the other day when I was on the phone with a friend.  He said he was from a police association or department asking for donations.  I quickly said NO and I hung up.  I recognized the same voice from someone who called asking for the same around Christmas time. He has a deep voice and speaks very fast, and he really tried to convince me to donate money.  This is probably the same person who used to call my parents.  At one time, years ago, I was at my parents' home and I received the same phone call, asking for money, and he speaks very fast.  I quickly said NO. He was very pushy, and he kept asking again and again.  It seems that this has been going on for years.  The telephone companies need to do something about this. This person needs to be reported to the police department.

Same thing. Recorded message saying please hold (how RUDE, you called ME!) and then a very slick-sounding older man said it was the NYS dept of chiefs of police. I told him Maria was not in and he said he'd call back. We are on the Do Not Call Registry, no idea why these people are calling.
