1. Never talk to any collection agency or debt help company over a telephone.
2. Never engage with them or admit who you are.
3. Always ask for everything in writing via mail.
4. Always respond to letters with a "FDCPA debt validation letter" sent via certified mail with return receipt.

I got a call from this number on 8/30/11-no message and the caller id read "unknown name"

Pretending to be with a credit card company and trick people in to thinking we do business.  When press 1 to talk to someone and get a person they hang up if you are not scammed.  Seems they keep calling and changing numbers over time.

Received partial message again [this time on 31 Augsut 2011] ... I keep reporting violation to Do Not Call list.

Got another call from "my friend" Rachel from "Cardholder Services" again this morning.

Reported to FCC, Do Not Call/Consumer Complaint Dept.

This was an automated call which left their message on my answering machine.  They stated it was my final chance to lower my credit card rate.  (I do not have a credit card balance) The message stated to push 3 to stop further calls or 0, I think, to speak to a live operator.  If this was my final chance, why would you need to push 3 to stop further calls???  I have received the same automated message numerous times on both my home phone and cell phone & with several different phone numbers appearing on my caller ID.

Called to lower my interest rate - I don't even have a credit card.  Not only that, but I have an unlisted cell phone number and am also on the DNC list.

Telemarketer selling lower rates on credit cards?

Whenever they call, they start out with "There are no problems currently with your account." They don't identify who they are. Just say to call back to get lower rates.

I am on the DoNotCall Registry and filed a complaint, but neither seems to do any good.

Same call from numerous different numbers. (i.e., 310-526-2044, etc)  They seem to be "spoofing" their number using the software in their PBX.  Tried to press '3', but the calls still keep coming.  Tried to press '1' and get some additional info about their company ... they hung up on me.  Same happened when I asked what their policy was regarding the national DNC registry.
Like others here have posted, get as much info as you can and then file a complaint with the FCC at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints.  The form takes about 5-10 minutes to fill out, depending on how much info you can provide.

Third time in three days for cardholder services. Different number each time. I got a telephone that lets you have special rings for family and friends. I don't even bother to check the phone unless I hear the special ring.  They must be selling something to someone, because cardholder services calls have been coming for years.

this number keeps on calling my house.  I have accepted to talk to someone on the other side to tell them to stop calling me, but everytime someone comes on the line and I start talking about it, they hang up.

I received a call on a Saturday morning...very annoying.

Get a referee whistle and when you press "1" to speak to an agent, when they start their spiel, blow the whistle as hard as you can into the phone.They have heasdsets on, it will make them think twice about calling you.
