Received a phone call from what I strongly believe was an underpaid, rude and extremely bored call center employee in some remote part of India.
After saying hello, she jumped into telling me she had a job opportunity for me and asked me how many years of experience I had (all in a matter of 5 seconds). It seemed as though she was reading from a script and must have gotten my contact information from some other resume site.
I told her I was a recent grad with just a few years of internship experience. However, she kept asking me how many years of experience I had - 3 more times. Then I asked her politely about more details for the job so I could verify if I did have industry-specific experience/knowledge.
She did not give me any details and instead mumbled something about engineering in NJ and that the position requires someone with 4 years of experience.
I repeated to her that I only interned for a couple of years and that my entry-level background would probably not be suitable for a much more advanced position as this. At this point, without saying a word, she hung up while I was in mid-sentence.

Could they have at least read my resume before cold calling and wasting everyone's time?

Please stay away from this company. I don't think they have the slightest idea about what they are doing.

Yeah I too got called from this number. Seems like a remote part of India too. I couldn't understand a word she said and she was pretty rude about it. I'd say don't accept calls from this number. I want to know how she got it at all.

Got a call about 30 minutes ago asking if I wanted a job. I started asking how much, when, where, etc. The.accent was so thick, not even my indian friends knew what she was saying. I asked her to send more information, but nothing has been sent. When the numbers pop up, I send to voicemail. They never leave a message. Seems like a scam, cant get a straight answer.

I'm PISSED!  I just received a VM from "APU" (I think that was his name!) Could barely understand him through a very thick Eastern Indian accent. He then rudely called like 6 more times today in rapid succession w/o leaving a VM, so I just ignored him. The position he mumbled about wasn't even remotely close to what I am looking for.

I'm assuming he is a cold caller, from some recruitment boiler room in India, using a NJ area code to fake people into trusting the call and answering... -- "Do you want a slurpy from Quicky Mart?!" ::::NO! :::

Just got the call about 30 min ago.... I always google the number if they don't leave a VM.   I'm about to remove my resume from Dice... I think this is where they get my info from.

Welcome to tech recruiting in the post 2008 era. The above describes at least 1/2 the recruiting calls I get these days. At least 90% of the ones I can understand are calls wanting me to move for a cut in pay even though all my postings say no relocation or travel.

ONLY use your Google Voice number on job boards and resumes so you can white list the people that can get through to your actual phone. Also for turning off the fire hose after you get that new job. After about 2 years my GV recognizes almost 450 agencies. About 300 of which are redirected straight to voice mail with a message explaining to only leave a message for local jobs paying at least $X. The other 150 get a message saying email the details if I do not pick up the call.

Left a voicemail with such a thick accent, I couldn't even understand the phone number to call back. Something about  a job opportunity somewhere in Wisconsin.

Well our family's experience is much different than the rest of yours. Yes, it is an IT recruiting company located in NJ. My husband got a call from them last week. He had an interview with the company today in the city we live in. The recruiter called after the interview to speak with my husband about how it went but he wasn't home yet. He asked me if my husband was happy about his candidacy and I told him yes. He was very nice and very polite. His name was Rahvi and his English was very good. Some of you are mean and rude. The dialect of people from other countries is different than ours. When they speak English the speed in which they talk is similar to that of there own language. Why don't you people have some room for tolerance and diversity? Making fun of people because of their accent and culture is small-minded.

We're not being rude. American jobs are being taken by people who can barely speak or write English. If one wants to do business in the U.S., they should at least speak the language so the natives can understand what that person is saying!!!

A lot of H1 Visa employers have their unemployed candidates from India work on recruiting. The majority of the time, they have no recruiting skills whatsoever - it's just a way to keep their Visa from being revoked. After wasting a LOT of time with these "recruiters", I no longer return calls to any recruiter with an Indian accent.

I just got a call from this number too. I am at work so didn't pick up. They left a voicemail however. I guess I'll know pretty soon how strong the person's accent it. Did they help anyone find a job? Thanks

3/15 - Recieved an email from this company and I immediately search the phone number to see what reviews was on the internet. I always check for comments before contacting any recruitment agency. Especially agencies that are unfamiliar. Havn't decided to return a call or email.

Thanks for all the comments, it was really helpful.

In response to Sue, it's not a matter of being disrespectful, it's a matter of truly not understanding the person on the other end of the call. I just received a call from this number, answered it, and absolutely could not understand the caller.

Yep,  I just got a voice mail from an almost unintelligible Indian accent guy.  I could barely tell that it was a 'recruiter'.  At least they should have someone on the phone that is able to speak English well enough so that you can understand them.
