Rcv'd call from this number about 7:30 p.m. tonight. All I caught was the word "cancer." My guess it's a scam to make people think they're being solicited by a legitimate charity. A pox upon them.

Got the same request - mentioning cancer - when I said I give somewhere else they automatically hung up

Call about donations for cancer.  To help low income cancer patients.  When I told them we are on one income and my husband has cancer, how can we receive, they hung up.  I called back and told the guy that they are sick to hang up on people that could use their assistance and remove my number.  Guy apologized.

I ask this caller how much of the donation go directly to families. Answer was 20%.  "because administrative fees and soliciting are expensive".  Not everything pink is pretty.

"Lancaster Ohio" Received this call- they wanted to talk to my husband. I went to get him and they hung up. Will block!

Someone from this number has called my house 2 times asking for my 6 year old.

Got a call asking for me by name, when I said speaking, they hung up.

Darn right.  Always check out any charity that calls on Charity Navigator.  If less than 70% goes to the actual cause being supported, there's a better place to send your donations.

Received call from this number- caller id said Lancaster, OH. I googled info and saw your comments. I didnt answer, and wont, thank you for the heads up on so called charities like this one

Someone called me and asked for 'Nicholas". I said there was nobody here by that name. The [***] hung up on me without so much as an apology for disturbing me in MY HOME.

Got the number and will call them back at some late hour.....in the early a.m.

Rec'vd a call from 740 205 1721 about 8:45 am -- they hung up when I answered the phone.  Don't think they were expecting to hear a live body on my end.  I hate dropping what I'm doing to go answer a call from someone who interruped me for no reason ...

Got call form 740-205-1721 at 8:30am EST. Woman asked for my wife by her first name. I said that I would get her. Woman then said she's talk to me. She started in by saying she was from Cancer Fund of America, then immediately went into her "sales" pitch. When I tried to say that I give at work, she just continued with her script, totally ignoring me. I again tried to get her to stop, she continued on without missing a beat, talking over my requests. I finally hung up. I called the number back. A recording said that they were closed and to call back later. Sounds like another "charity" scam.

Got call from 740-205-1721 @ 8:59am in Lancaster Ohio.  They asked for my husband & I told them he wasn't available right now if there was a message & they hung up!  Very rude if you ask me.  called them back & got a recording but was able to request to have our number removed from their list.  let's just see & it said it could take up to 30 days for our number to be removed.  Then the recording said if we wanted to talk to a representative to call back during normal business hours which as 9:30am-4pm MST what do they mean 9:30am MST?????? It's only 8:49 EST & you are calling me already so someone has to be there hello morons......lol.

I got a call from this number this evening at 8:30 asking for my husbands name & I asked who is calling told me Amanda & something about cancer.  She kept cutting out.  I called the number back & an answering machine came on saying "customer service for the Cancer fund of America"  If you would like your number removed press 1 & the machine the number would be removed within 30 days.  Then gave their business hours.  The whole thing sounds fishy to me.

Received 2 calls, one 11/21/11 from 740-205-1721 @ 4:09 pm & one on 12/5/11 from 740-205-1726 @ 5:56 pm--We did not answer either time, they left no message.  The name or number was not familiar

MST would be Moron Standard Time!!!!  LOL

I have been getting weekly calls from this "charity" for months, though I never answer the phone when I see who it is. Here is the BBB report on them (translation: DO NOT DONATE!)
