No message left on machine.  Caller ID listed number but instead of name or company said "local call".

Received call on caller ID as described above

Received call on caller ID  which stated Chesapeake, VA  --- picked up phone and no one there

Received a call 2/16 at 2:35pm.  Indicated "local call" although my area code is not 757.  No message.

Got a call from this number.  The caller id simply said local call. They left no message.

Got a call from this number on 2.21.08.  Caller id simply said local call.  They did not leave a message.

Caller ID says  local call. Of course it isn't. Didn't leave a message.

We need to find out who this is since they dont leave a message.

I received a call this morning at 8:15.  The "local caller" identified herself as calling from the Children's Leukemia Society.  I commented that it was too early to be calling and hung up on her.  I then called the number from my office phone.  This phone number is actually the Fundraising Information Center.  This explains why I get calls from the Police Benevolent Society, Cancer charities, the whole routine.  I have called the number that shows on caller id, usually different numbers with either a 757 or 804 area code and it always goes to the Fundraising Information Center.  I am not sure but this organization may be blocked by the Do Not Call registry as they are a 3rd party

This is not a charity organization.

Call came into to 804 area code, but caller ID indicated "local call."  Call was from 747 area code.  No message

Call came to 434 area code # that is SUPPOSED TO HAVE A BLOCK ON TELEMARKETERS, & has been my number ONLY 2 months!! How do they get the # so quickly?? Yikes!! Caller ID says "local call", yet 757 is NOT my area code!! Leaves no message!!! Probably political fundraiser?? Like the idea someone gave me to call back and give them their # to reach you on. Give them a taste of their own medicine, huh???  If they are a third party fundraising  organization that allows them to be exempt from the do not call law, shame on them!! They're making BIG BUCK$$$$ for calling folks from hell!!

No one there when I answered! I like the idea of calling back (*67 of course) and entering their # at the prompt.

Call came in as "local call" and no one was on the line when I answered it.

Only says Chesapeake and when the answering machine comes on, the call gets drop so that tells me is an automated call.

Now when I get a call from a 757 number , I answer and say Iam so glad you called. I would like to take this time to tell you about my 15 dogs. I go on telling them each name and ages and what kind they are and at the end I ask for a contrbution to help feed all my dogs. Let me tell you, this works. By the time I finish my sales pitch they have already hung up.Sometimes I answer ans say, how nice of you to call. Would you like to buy my special cologne? If they have not hung up yet I just keep talking about my cologne. Oh by the way, I really dont sell cologne, that is just a sales pitch.....Sassy Girl

They are not a fundraiser or even a Godless Terrorist Bill Collector.  They are an off-shore criminal organization that will "Phish" you for pieces of your ID until they have enough to steal your ID.  The useless government and police are impotent to do anything about these off-shore criminal enterprises posing as legitimate on-shore organizations so it is up to you to guard yourself.  Actually the government and police could care less about this because they are too busy running interference to cover their own immoral & illicit actions.

Remember, legitimate organizations are NOT afraid to talk to you and do not hide behind anonymity, false caller ID info and multi-layered automatic answering systems.
