How do they get the telephone numbers? And who do they think they are calling at midnight?

I am extremely annoyed!

They are trying to collect a 9 year old bill from a company I never did busines with.  They laugh at law enforcement but they are persistent.  They have never sent me a document providing proof.

Portfolio Recovery Associates has been calling me, asking for someone else--they have the wrong person but will not stop calling. They call from a variety of different telephone numbers in Washington, DC and New York City.  Yesterday I was fed up after receiving early morning calls on Saturday and Sunday so I filed six complaints with the federal Do Not Call Registry, with whom my number is registered. (https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx)  Each complaint was for a different call.  Even if you are not registered, all it takes to qualify for a complaint is if you tell Portfolio Recovery Associates not to call. The Registry has of late been issuing fines to companies who violate do not call requests, so maybe if they receive enough complaints, these slime balls will get fined.

Someone needs to grab the scamming owner and his despicable complacent rat employees and smack them upside their heads.

Don't call them back whatever you do!  This company, Portfolio Recovery Associates, will ignore cease & desist letter and will not respond to requests that they validate the loan. If you try to talk to them by phone they are rude, insulting and uncooperative. They don't want the truth - they just want money from you even if not your debt. They call your job and home and will deliberately leave messages on the phones of co-workers.

This is nothing more than a RICO operation disguised as a legit collection agency - they are an illegal boiler room operation, albeit a very large "room" and really...these people, including the employees who are complicit in the criminal activity, need to be arrested and prosecuted...and they will be...just a question of when.

This Portfolio Recovery Associates is a total scam operation.

Portfolio Recovery Associates, owned by the master scammer Steven D Fredrickson, might be the biggest scam operation on this planet. Steven D Fraud should be his name. Don't ever communicate with them and NEVER send them any money, or it will only get worse.
