I got an extremely rude call in the early morning from this number with a woman demanding that i verify my social.  It's either the most inept collector ever or it's a scam.

Please see the thread regarding this number at 800notes dotter com. This company is CRA and takes already written off debt and tries to collect on it.

This lady called me about 20 minutes ago. Said she was with CRA and had some documents delivered to her in my name - Before she could go on she needed the last 4 digits of my SS#. I told her I wasn't giving her any such information and asked her again who she was with - she got very rude and loud and started telling me she didnt ask for any information and I could just have my rep call her at the number that came up on my caller ID. I have no bad or past debt so it couldn't be that. I have sent the call report from my phone to our Attorney General here in TX - I suggest any one else do the same.

According to the caller, the call was related to a "filing". When I told her to call back— I was preparing for a meeting and didn't have time to hear her out— she insisted that I call her back. She did get my SSN before I even thought about it.

A scam? I'm not aware of any bad debts. Would the last four of my social do anybody any good?

Very rude woman left a message. Very unprofessional! I will not waste my time returning the call.

A very rude woman left a message, sounded like a rude b**** and a cross between a Valley Girl talking, that I must return her call today blah blah blah.  Some debt collector I suppose. She gave a reference number. Can't squeeze blood out of a dry bank. If it's in collections now, and I still do not have the money to pay it,  hello out there.

Got a call from some loud woman asking for a Frank "Somebody".  If forgot the last name she used.  I told her she had the wrong number and she asked me if I was sure there was no Frank here.  I told her I was sure, and that this had been my phone number for years.  She then asked if I knew how to get in touch with Frank because she had some "very important" information for him.  I said no again and that it seems "Frank" gave you the wrong contact information, and bye-bye!  She didn't try the "verify social security number" spiel though.

REcieved a cal from this company i will be forwarding my complaint to the autorney general of Texas as well.  Since they have no debit to collect on and still other me while i am at work. They are very rude and unprofessional.

Ms. Gilbert from CRA called claiming I owed money to a company I never heard of.  Perhaps they should do a better job of confirming they have the right person before they actually call to harass people.

According to the Commercial Recovery Athority web site (http://www.commercialrecoveryauthority.com/) you get redirected to a site where the FTC filed against this company where they violated the Fair Debt Collection act and states: " this business can not be operated lawfully going forward. "

I GOT VERY RUDE CALL FROM 757-7167196 ASKING FOR PERSONAL INFO. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PHONE CALL SO RUDE IN MY LIFE.

this rude a%%hole told me  i owed a payday loan & wanted me to give him my routing number. When I told him I could not do that until he sent me some documentation on what it was since i had no debts from the year 2000, he got very rude said he would have to turn it over to the authorities. Is that suppose to scare me it has beeen 11 years since that was suppose to of have happened. If it had been true it would have been written of by now. What a scam, how do these people get away with this sh%t?

Got a very rude voice mail this morning saying that I "must make time to call back today!"  Yeah, I called back and was equally rude when they demanded my name and social security number.  Ummm...not going to happen.

I got a call from that number just now on both my cell AND work numbers!!! I do not put my work numbers on anything so I have no idea where this (as everyon else mentioned) RUDE lady got my info. Wicked sketchy!

got a call from this number andlet itgo to voicemail.  Lady going by the name Kelly sawyer left a message saying that it appears I am not even aware they are trying to contact me and I should call her back IMEDIATELY, It's very important that i speak to her ASAP!  Her number she gave to call back was 877-394-0396.

I received a call before I was awake they said they were filing a document with the fed gov and began asking questions and I had answered the questions before i was totally awake enough to realize what I was dealing with. Then they promptly made a determination then hung up on me. The phone number I received the call from was 757-716-7196 . I called it back they answer CRA . I asked what type of company they were they said there were 13 different depts. and I had reached a dept but they would not state what dept it was. They were very rude and abrupt and hung up fast.
Upon further research I discovered that this company appears to have been shut down by the Federal Trade Commission in Sept 2011.

CRA is Consumer Recovery Associates in Virginia Beach VA  Despite their mission statement and complaint page....I think they are purchasing junk debt. Their web page is interesting...they do have multiple numbers.
