This number called my work place of 50 or so people, got into the voice mail system, left only me a voice mail message, but it was just silence.  I'm hoping from all your posts here, it isn't going to become a daily thing.... we'll see.

I finally answered their persistent calls, connecting them with a couple of postcards I have received from a publication company via my college alumni office.  These people make directories for colleges & have for years. They call to update your listing for your particular college/university. They have your name/year graduated already, but ask questions updating your degreees, career and family.  Then will nicely try to sell you a copy of their book with info about your classmates they have gleaned from them.  The premium copy if over $100, but you can get a soft cover version for around $60.  No pressure to order, but I believe I did around my 10th year reunion.  It was much cheaper 20 years ago, but I think these are the same people.  I would guess the "unknown" part is because someone calls from home.  Contact your alumni office with questions.

Harris Connect may in fact be a legitimate company, but they use illegitimate means.  I'm a federal employee, and they call at work several times a week - wasting your tax dollars.  The sad part is, with the 40+ complaints on this site, the BBB of Southern Virginia says they have only 2 (TWO) complaints listed against them, and gives them an A+ rating.  Their corporate HQ is in Brewster NY, 1-800-326-6600; this 757 number is just their boiler-room cover for Norfolk/Chesapeake VA, 1-800-877-6554.  If you are going on a long vacation, forward your telephone to one of these 800 numbers to give them internal feedback.

I have a masters from U of Chicago, and they contract with Harris to compile their alumni directory. Harris sent me postcards and emails to update my info, so I filled out an online form. The postcards kept coming. Tonight, Harris left a voice mail. I'm not going to bother returning the call, since it's obvious from what others have said that this is going to waste yet more of my time. However, I did take the time to email the U of Chicago Alumni Office that they should look for another directory company, and I am leaving my comment, here.

Harris is probably subcontracting with multiple telemarketing firms and a direct mail house, but they are not coordinating the activity. It's mud on their face. I certainly wouldn't hire Harris since they are making their clients look stupid. That's a good trick to make U of Chicago look dumb. I wouldn't want it to happen to my firm.

They have called my private work number over and over.  I am never in the office so it just shows up in my email as a missed call.  If this is reall Harris then that explains a lot.  Last year they published a directory of alumni from my old college.  I got sucked into that piece of junk for a hundred bucks.  They probably figure if they got me once they can get me again.  But Grandma always said fool me twice, shame on me.  I just gotta figure out who to report them to that will put some teeth into the "do not call me" demand.

Stop calling me. I hate this number. They should get fined every time they call.

Calls all the time never leaves a message. Can't be important

This number constantly calls day and night. Never anyone on the other end. Very annoying!!   It comes up on the caller ID as Directory OFC whatever that may be.   We are on the do not call list, but still get annoying calls.  Very disgusted with the whole system!!

I received numerous calls from this number once a day at different times each day. Most times I answered, within a few seconds, it would hang up. Today, just a few minutes ago, I answered it again. This time, after a lengthy pause, I heard a male voice through an extremely crackly connection say he was from a Harris Publishing, looking for one Georgia Katco, a woman who had my number over a year and a half before I had it; I have received numerous calls from many different companies over the last year and a half I've been in possession of this number looking for this woman. I tersely informed them that Katco had not had the number in almost two years. The voice said he would fix the records. I hope this is the last time I have to deal with these damned people.

This number is shown as Harris Pri on my caller ID. They called couple times tonight and again yesterday. I haven't answered them.

It's Harris Publishing and they've been calling my job everyday for a while.  They never leave a message, so I called back and there was the option to have the number removed from their company's call list.  i took that option, but they keep calling after that.  I called again today and spoke to someone telling them i have no business with them and please stop calling me.  I was told that because my number is a business number they can't take the number off their list.  What?? That's crazy.  I asked for a supervisor - didn't get one, but the original rep came back to the phone and said they'd take the number off.  I had to say I'd report this if it continues.

We are receiving continual calls from this number at our business phone and they say nothing and hang up.
These calls are coming every few minutes on a regular basis and are quite disruptive to our company and employees.

This number calls repeatedly, daily, more than once a day.  Our number is on the Do Not Call list.  They never leave a message.  Extremely irritating now.

This number has called my company cell phone frequently over the last week or so. Never a message, of course. I have not tried to call them back.

Another caller I don't answer. The volume of these calls seems to be increasing. The Do Not Call rules are obviously too lax and need to be tightened.

I worked for Harris several years ago. Great bunch of people, and good income. They are NOT a scam, they deliver what they promise. If you don't want he call, you can take steps to stop them.
Here's some pointers:
The Rep who calls you has no control over who or where they call. They are on an automated phoning system.
Being rude to the Rep is stupid and wont stop the calls.If you don't want them to call, simply tell them you want to be placed on the Do Not Contact list, for phone, mail and email, and you may also ask for a copy of the Do Not Call policy.
If the Rep denies being able to remove your info, demand to speak to a Supervisor.
EVERY single call is recorded, and that works to your benefit.
These folks are simply making a living, like all of us, and this company actually pay pretty well, offers good benefits and treats the Reps with dignity. If you don't like the call or the product, don't participate. Problem solved.
