A foreign-sounding male who doesn't identify himself says he's calling on behalf of Treasury Dept. regarding and "enforcement action that is being taken against me."  TOTAL nonsense..TOTAL SCAMMER!!

I just got one of these calls.  First he used my daughter's name, then mine and said that a marshall would be coming to my door because of a problem with my 2010 taxes. Then he said it was my 2011 taxes.  I could barely understand him.  A scam.

Got the same call as the previous poster - foreign sounding, gave another call-back number.  Said it was about some action by the treasury department.  Did not identify himself.

Sounds like a scam.

Same man called me several times lately.  I think it is a recording.  It takes about a 2 minutes for the talking to begin.  Cant someone do something about these scammers who try and frighten people??

This person called back again.  I just picked up and hung up.

Received a call from 760-298-3949, an asian speaking man saying he was from the IRS and this is the second notification that I owe back taxes from 2010, and I need to call Anthony Goober at 210-607-8922. I called 760-296-3949 back and was told that 2 policeman would be at my door in 45 minutes to arrest me. Wnen I called the asian man swered IRS, I called back later and the same man answered as Treasury Department. .  

Just recd the same call twice. A gentlemen by the name of Anthony Cooper left two vmail messages, but his distinct Indian accent doesn't match the above name. When I called the number in our caller ID... 760-298-3949, the man that answered the phone said Treasury Dept... And that he was looking to speak with my hubby. If I didn't promptly give him the message and he recd a return call, the police would be at our door( he recited our address) in twenty minutes.
I told him that I was calling our attorney and he said my hubby needed to speak to him before calling our attorney.
Total Scam!!

You're giving him too much credit.  He doesn't even call it the US Treasury Department.  He calls it the Department of US Treasury.  I told him he didn't sound like any of the Mike's I know and he hung up.

Threatening call from a foreign male. Left a call back number which is not in service.I called the original number off caller ID and was told I woulr be in trouble for calling them.

Received same call.  Left a number 2106078922.  When I called i got a Magic Jack message that this number was not yet connected.  When I redialed the 760 number, got the gentleman, who answered US Treasury.  He informed me that I never paid a penalty on my 2010 taxes.  When I asked why no documentation was sent, and questioned his validity, he hung up.  Called again, same man identified himself as James Webb with an employee ID number.  When I asked again for documentation, he said it would be provided within next 90 minutes and that I would be arrested.  Guess I'll wait around.

Got a call from this number this morning. Identified himself as Jay Harris, US Treasury agent #10012. Said there was a "miscalculation" on my 2010 tax return. Said if you e-file or use TurboTax, the small type says you have to go to a credit counseling agency within 45 days (which is ridiculous). Threatened lien on house. To freeze bank accounts. Then said two treasury agents would be at my house in 45 minutes to arrest me and I'd spend six months in jail. Very scary stuff. Except I know the IRS contacts you by mail. I have an installment agreement with the IRS that I know is up to date. I know I wouldn't be contacted by the San Diego office when I live on the East Coast. I also know that the IRS doesn't come down on you by phone like a ton of bricks. The caller also had a distinct Indian or Pakistani accent which made him hard to understand. Called 2 times yesterday. Left no message. Don't have a clue who they are except phone id says Vista, CA. It is amazing how every low-life scumball can constantly annoy all of us yet our government seems as helpless as a new born baby in putting a dent in the multitude of bogus phone calls!!!

He called me more than seven times just yesterday and today, and he keeps saying that I would be sentenced to jail for ignoring him. He had a thick Indian accent, and was very hard to make out what he was saying

I've been getting a lot of scammer calls like this from California, lately. I recently switched my phone service to Ooma, I wonder if that might not have something to do with this?    

Same guy is calling me. Called me 2x yesterday and just now.  It's coming from California 760-298-3949 and says advise cooperate "help us to help you"  Today he's Steve Martin.  Yesterday he was Anthony Cooper.  
I consider this a threat. He's threatening to have me arrested, telling me it's a federal criminal offense, etc.  It sounds like a recording as it loops at least 2 times. Treasury department, same story as the other reports.

This should be turned over to federal authorities, but not sure who. Or at least state's attorney.

I got a call identified on caller id as "Private" and my voice mail is transcribed and sent to my email account.  Same guy "Steve Martin" threatening me.  Here is the transcript (keep in mind the transcript is voice recognition, but clearly this is not "Steve Martin" -- however, I am waiting for Dan Akroyd to call me about this tomorrow :).  It is a recording because it did loop at least twice on my machine.  I am following up via FBI tips and reporting it as a clear threat and I don't even know who in their right mind would give information.  A little scary actually since you don't really know these people intentions.  I am following up on this else it doesn't stop.  Good luck all!

It is a scam...a distinct SouthAsian accent...I can tell we are From India....same message saying he is Steve calling from the U.S. treasury department.Definitely a scam..

This isn't a scam... it's a bunch of [***] trying to get you to call 201-607-8922 to listen to a "magic jack" advert.
It's just piss-poor advertising by a bunch of magic [***]!

Asian, India or Arab speaking gentleman threatening me to call for help with my problem of being brought before the Grand Jury!!!  BS!!!
