Confused with who this is that called me. "John Williams, a foreign man, left me a voice mail message advising me to either my attorney call him back or myself. He went on to say this was a time sensitive, legal matter, and if I didn't call back, "Good luck to me, as I will need it." I called back multiple times and each time, all I get is an option to leave a voice mail message myself. No indication on the answer machine as to who this is or the company they represent, etc.

Got a call from a Mark Anderson, heavy MidEast accent in a room with a lot of bacround voice noise. (Call Center?) telling me that I had a case filed against me and to call a Kevin Peterson at 760-335-6956.  This is an El Centro CA, phone #.  When I called, all I got was a couple of rings & a beep.  I'm going to call the El Centro PD to see if they've had other reports, and tell Mark/Kevin I will wait for the subpoena if they call back.

I just got the same call with the same speech.  Not calling back.  This seems to be a scam.

I have received two calls now from this number from a foreigner by the name of Jack Calvin. He states this is a time sensitive matter and that me or my attorney needs to call asap. That this was a legal matter.

This is an extortionist debt collector. I found a post on WhoCallsMe under 8043185476 (”Scam”, 23 Dec 11) that describes the scam in detail, how complaints are handled and how to defend yourself.

These people will harass you by calling you repeatedly and threatening you, so you will need to block them or forward the call to the police. Contact your network provider for details.

I had the same thing happening to me.....Exact same names too

Just got a call from this person today at work.  I ask him what this is about wouldn't tell me.  Said I will be arrested and needed to take care of this right away.  Kept asking what do I need to take care of.  Said I had to have my attorney call or talk to the States Attorney at his office.  Told him this is my place of work and not to call me anymore or I would turn this over to the FBI and he told me to go F myself.

They just callled my work and said they were with the state attorney office in california and thats not the worst part. The worst part is my boss answered and now i am having to defend myself to him. They dont want a person with legal problems working here. Wow what should I do to get this to stop??

Got a phone call from a foreign man stating that i have a legal case against me and that i will need all the help i can get to take care of this matter. Do not know who they are but i told him to stop calling my phone or the authorities will be called. He was very rude and hung up on me and then proceeded to call me back threatening me again.

Got the same threatening message from Marvin to call Kevin Peterson 760-335-6956--when I called they were very rude. I asked for a reference #--he said he didn't have one--I asked for the name of the original creditor--he gave me all these different names--then said that I shouldn't be asking him all these questions that I need to read the disclosure on the agreement that I signed.. I said well how can we resolve this issue he said that it was too late that the Sheriff Office was going to contact me and they were going to come to my job and arrest me and I said why when I'm trying to resolve this issue now and he hung up the phone

I got a call from this number everyday for a week asking me if I had an attorney I figured it was a scam so I told them yes I did they called back and changed their voice pretending to be someone else why are they doing this? V

Yea I got the same call from someone with a strange accent telling me that there was a criminal record in Cali. for some Loan Cash Advance that I never here about.  Talking about how the police is going to come to me job to arrest me. When I tried to get the explanation of the charges they hung up the phone and when I attempted to call them back "no answer" which I thought was odd.  This is a shame and they need to be caught

Someone named John Watson telephoned saying he was with the State Attorney's office in California .. Los Angeles.  I hung up on him a few times and he kept calling back.  Most people would feel threatened by him, but legally there's nothing he can do if you are not in the same state as he is.  I knew he was a bogus creditor trying to get someone scared, anxious and ready to do whatever he said.

My phone is on the do not call list, so I tried listing a complaint immediately (3/21/2013) and got the following from the dnc registry:

There is no way that any existing attorney's office is going to take out a brand new VoIP telephone number in order to harass people like this.  I have had several similar calls over a few months from other numbers with similar messages.  I tell them all to go screw themselves, that they are a scam.  Some of them do sound very convincing.  I have even had some that sound like Americans doing it.  They are all the same.  Nothing has come of any of it.  For me, it seemed like it started happening after applying for a payday loan over the internet.

Got the same message today.. I told him I work for the Mafia and he hung up!!!

i received a call from mike  something and he told me that Jennifer Williams wanted to speak with me ...but i never got to speak with anyone but this mike guy....and that i had to give them 1222.00 to settle a debt and if i did not pay this to them they were gonna have the police come to my house arrest me and then i would see him in court...he was demanding my ssn# so i told him i wanted to speak with his supervisor and he then started cussing me saying i am a piece of [***] and that i need to pay them their money.

yes they called me today with the same [***]...they left a mess that i am suppose to get ahold of jennifer williams so i call back and then this mike guy ...(SOME FORENER) said she isnt in the office and then said whats ur ssn# i say its none of ur business if u cant tell me who im talking with and he got mad and said ok police will come to ur place of employment and arrest u and ill see u in court....i call back ...and then he said why should i tell u what this is about ?? so i said hell with it send the cops cause i know this is fake and as a matter AS FACT I AM GONNA CALL THEM FOR U AND TELL THEM WHAT UR DOING SO HE HUNG UP

I received a call from this number, it was a lady saying that I had important legal matters against me and that I will be in a lot of trouble if I do not do as they say. I hung up, she called back, when she said that she knew my address, ssn, and place of employment, I demanded that she tell me what they were, she then continued this bs line of being in legal trouble, I hung up, she called again, foreign woman. this time, I called her a camel jumping [***], she began crying, I told her that I would find out who she was and eat her dog, she bawled, then I hung up, she called again, still crying, and said that i would die because I am a mean mean man.
ITS A SCAM, I hope this women has nightmares about what I said to her.
