they called asking to verify my birthdate. I hung up. Who and why would a stranger ask?

Hi, i think these calls made from CIA or any intelligent services in USA. They call back people who try to get to the sensitive job positions in USA.

This place calls twice a day during the hours I'm at work.  Never leaves a message.  Caller ID says "Sallie Mae".  I have never had an interaction with Sallie May except for a student loan which has been paid off for about 8 years.  That's it.  They've never left a message, and I'm never home to receive their call and tell them I have no business with them.

if you know who they are why dont you call them back and let them know you have no business with them?

Received a call but missed it.  They left no voicemail.  Based on other's experiences with this number (and the fact that "Sallie Mae" called me from 866 971 7882 the next day), I think this my be a Sallie Mae number...but I am suspicious that it could be a scam.

The other number asked for the last digits of my SS#, and I've never been asked that unless I am the one who initiates the call.

This number id as AKA Salle May debt collectors!

The number is listed to General Revenue Corporation, even though Sallie Mae comes up on the caller ID.

Yo dude... I have no student loans and never had any. I have a house mortgage that is current (no defaults) and a car loan that is current (no late or defaults). My caller ID says SALLIE MAE at 765-283-3000 but no message was left on my answering machine.

I suspect that Jack is a sock puppet for one of the collection agencies!

They'll also call you if a relative listed you as a contact on their orginial loan.

this number is for Sallie Mae - for a person who used to have my cell phone number. Unfortunately, they must not want their money too bad because there are no options to speak to an operator (or any person for that matter) and it requires entry of the last 4 digits of SSN (which I do not have) and THEN, the recording actually begins to sound irritated when I attempt to hit * or # on my phone (hoping it will take me to an operator)..... This is ridiculous and I have no idea how to get them to stop so now will need to block the number from my phone.

Finally called the number back 765-283-3000 (press O) get SALLIE MAE ...Hit 4 (Security Dept) told them I was getting calls from this number and wanted it to stop they gave me 1 800 number (800-459-1961) ...was asked to put in social security number or HOLD on the line. I held on the line and told them I was getting calls for someone else and want the calls to stop (they call 2-3 times a day from 765 number or PRIVATE CALLER number). Sallie Mae asked what was the phone number being called I told them and they noted this and said they would mark it a BAD NUMBER and take me off the call list. I am hoping the problem is solved and I NEVER see this number again on my caller ID.

Call everyday and say nothing.
