    ITT-TECH = SCAM
SALLIE MAE = ITT SCAM BENEFICIARIES

ITT TECH/SALLIE MAE Loan Officer told me my loan would cost under $200, but after graduating my loan is over $500 a month (this is for a 2-yr AS degree)! Uhh, no money for you! What a joke Sallie Mae is! ON TOP OF IT they never reply to my emails I send directly from their own website, so I can't even tell them how much they screwed up this whole loan.

Sure as [***] though, they will call from an 800 and 866 number all day (which is a machine, not a human) and then someone from this number calls me constantly today (over 5 times from 9am to 6pm) I just picked up @ 6pm, and they simply hung up after I said Hello. Good luck getting my money or anything! ahahahha suckers! And you're ruining your own country doing this! Pathetic greedy [***] at these companies!
    • Caller: SallieMae? No idea, they hung up!

I graduated from that crack factory ITT twenty years ago with an AS degree. Not only could I not get a good paying job, but a $6000 loan magically turned in an $19000 loan with horrendously high payments. Plus, they split it up into eight different loans, so on my (absolutely destroyed) credit report it looks like I scammed eight different schools. Great, huh? To this day my wages are still being garnished, and I have nine more years to pay it off. I have never been able to buy a car or a house or even a lousy credit card. The calls stopped only because I changed my phone number six times!

Good luck to you, Dustin. I pray that 20 years from now you aren't in the same boat I am.

    Thanks for replying Rick
Wow, I am seriously about to sue them just like the other people back in 2002 (check out ITT TECH on wikipedia, they got sued for MILLIONS because they did the SAME EXACT things to me!) Supposedly they won millions, and even got over $900,000 extra for just the lawyer fees. Hmmmmmm! For real, if you see this and see ITT getting sued, its probably me... I have paid EVERYTHING else, credit cards, everything on time, but I refuse to pay these [***] suckers trying to scam me like a DAMN MAFIA in NEW YORK ("PAY ME MORE OR SOMETHING BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOU!")

I seriously am not even joking one bit, this is a sham that's legalized because of greedy people getting paid off in our government. I am seriously going to do something about this.

They've been calling my fax line for a month.  After 19 pages of fax activity logs with 75 calls per page showing mostly no fax received, I finally had to get Caller ID to find out who was wasting my paper and ink.  Turns out some loser gave them my number as his own.

If you want to pay them back, update the phone number on your account with the fax number to a local attorney!  They're not smart enough to send a fax when they receive that horrid fax tone.  They'll just keep calling thousands of times and never even get a clue that a person isn't going to answer.

By the way - if you do owe them, you'll pay even if you don't make monthly payments.  The loan is subsidized by the US Department of Education - they can take your income tax refunds and garnish wages without ever taking you to court.  I worked in loan collections for 14 years.  It's better to call them back, tell them what you can pay and when - and then follow up by sending a letter to them repeating what you said by phone.  If they say they cannot accept what you can do, tell them 1) they are not managing your budget, 2) your circumstances have changed and you currently cannot meet the terms as you originally agreed, and  3) they will have to work with you on terms that you are capable of meeting until your situation improves.  Don't tell them they can't get blood from a turnip or water from a stone.  That is antagonistic,  will make them mad, and they will be less likely to work with you.  Get them to empathize with you.  Appeal to their human side.  STAY CALM.  If they become ugly, simply say that you are not comfortable with their tone and the direction of the conversation, and you're hanging up now.  If they call back, get their supervisor's name, hang up, and write a letter of complaint.  Don't blow them off - you'll make things worse.

    doesnt matter
ok...so i feel like i was quite scammed almost...
I was supposed to go on this date with a guy 'Brendan' a half an hour b4 he picks me up, gives me a BS excuse about how his old house in KY got robbed and he canceled out date..
didnt think much of it, until the very next morning, i received calls from, these people demanding to speak with a 'Brent'
the calls r coming from a few states over from kentucky..
yes theyre about student loans, but its from a time warner company..
ive repeatedly told them that i dont f*in know the guy, and my phone is
--pre-paid--- meaning unlisted...meaning the only way someone even could GOTTEN then number is if i gave it to them myself..or someone i know did.

is it just me to feel quite fishy about this?

also considering the guy was seemingly falling for me, and now...haha..go figure..no word

they call 2-5 times a day, im gonna call em back, get their info and report them.

since there is a disclaimer in the beginning 'that this call may be recorded blah'

both parties are aware and permitting a voice recording of the conversation..
thus meaning...i can record it to...and it WILL hold as evidence in any type of trial.

ill be speaking with their supervisor from a blocked number

It is Sallie Mae. They call repeatedly from various numbers: 866, 800, 877, Unknown, Private, etc. AND the mail they send is numbing! It is hard to make heads or tails out of any of it.

sallie mae is a scam. they tried suing me. Through research i found out all they are is a call center, basically a third party for loans.

probably in partnership with frannie mae - they are a bunch of private investors.. [***] em don't pay em sit and let them fail

they split up my loans (which i consolidated into one) but they didn't mention to the consolidation people that there were other loans.. basically they [***] me.

    Scam.

as for how they got you number, well I bet I had a few dialer computers like they do, it would only take time for me to find your number too.  Just because your number is not listed some place, does not mean it can't get calls.  So if you want to call every one and try to get money from them, best to try every number you can.

    They are debt purchasers.

Tell them that you are herby warning them to issue further communication via writing ONLY and that if they call you again they are breaking the telecommunications act and you will report them to the police.

Also make sure you tell them you record your calls for security purposes - even if your actually not.

But try recording them. This company will make your life hell if you let them.

Do your research and be in control. If your not comfortable doing this tell them what I said above and hang up. If they call you more than 3times in 1 day this is breaking the law.

Do your reserch search "The Consumer action group" on google, you can find all the laws and info put simply on there.

BEWARE, DON'T EVEN CONFIRM YOUR IDENTITY/NAME TO THEM ON THE PHONE.

Tell them when they call you

THAT I AM RECORDING THIS CONVERSATION

when you talk to someone, tell them first that and they will end the conversation.

They dont like to be recorded.

This double standard is illegal, write the PA. attorney general and file complaint.

thats where Sallie Mae is located.

I asked them to stop calling and they said they wouldn't.  I asked if I could send in a request to for the them to stop and they said that they would have to "cease and desist" ALL communication, not just via telephonically.  They would institute a legal suit at that point.
