missed the call  - DOMINICA??

This is a scam originating from several Caribbean islands, including Grenada (area code 473), Dominica (area code 767), Jamaica (area code 876), Montserrat (area code 664), Turks and Caicos Islands (area code 649), Antigua and Barbuda (area code 268), Barbados (area code 246), and Anguilla (area code 264).  This scam seems to have started in Grenada and has quickly spread to a number of other Caribbean islands.

The original scam attempted to lure the called party to return the call to the Caribbean number by calling at inappropriate times (e.g., early morning), ringing only once or twice, and not leaving a message.  The called party would incur international and other phone charges for a return call, with a portion of the proceeds going to the scammers.  The latest iterations of this scam have combined the cramming feature with other scams (i.e., prizes, debt collections, “computer virus” problems, etc.).

Rang once then they hung up - caller ID just said Dominica

These calls started AFTER I registered on DONOTCALL.GOV...
Some Obozo clown is passing numbers to these turds in the Carribean.

I just had a call on my mobile phone at 8:56 pm on a Saturday night.  Phone rang 4 times and no voicemail.  Caller ID showed phone number and Dominica.

Got a call yesterday at 6:00 am from 268 area code.  Received a call this morning from 767 area code. My cell phone rings for a second or so then hangs up.  I never answer the phone unless I know the person calling.

this #called me 2 times. calls and diconnects

I didn't call the number back, but I did initially answer it. There was dead air and then they hung up. Am I in trouble for having picked up the call?

Am I in trouble if I picked up the call? I didn't call back, but i did answer. I have friends traveling right now and so I thought it might have been them, didn't know the are code was not a U.S. code until I looked it up, glad I didn't try calling back first.

Scam phone call!

My daughter was traveling overseas at the time I got the call (a couple days ago). I did try to call it back when I saw it, but didn't get anything but air static. Until I read an article online a few minutes ago I didn't give it a second thought. I will have to check my bill to see if I was charged anything.

Today I rec'd a call from this number.  The past month or more my wife and I have been receiving calls from numbers beginning with  268-762 (and last 4 digits are changed for the different calls). Our State BB says these calls are most likely from Antigua, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, etc.and they've been targeting various states hitting MN now.  It appears this 767-235-9450 falls into the same category.

Do not reply!  If you do they immediately get the needed information and your acct will then be billed.

Total scam don't call back. Got charged 35 bucks

Missed call, late at night

Phone rang only once and didn't leave a message.  Googled #, in case it was a client or vendor.  Read lurker's comments from 1/31/14 and glad I did!
