Get informed! They can call you 7 days a week starting at 8:00am until 9:00pm. They don't even care if it is a holiday. They are all SCUM.

Called and wanted to verify my last 4 of my SSN. When I wouldn't, they read it allowed. They stated that they were looking for my former employeer, and that I was one of the signed card holders. Is this a SCAM, or a real debt collector?

They called me 2 times. I missed the first one, but I answered the second one. They were looking for someone that I did not know.

They called someone in my building and asked for me. When told I did not live at that unit, they became nasty and said it was my address and they needed to speak to me right away!! There are 47 units in my building. Are they going to call each and every one???

Told them person does not have this number again interrupted and I told them to put some one who spoke English on the line and quit calling. They call much less if you quit answering.

they call me from 3 different numbers, all of which are on my reject list! :\

They are calling a number that I haven't given out to family or friends! They must want the previous owner of my phone #, because I am not in debt!

Do not ever verify over the phone any part of your SSN, unless you made the call and you know a valid reason.  Do not be intimidated.

To find out who they are, first, hide your number - here we use *67.  Then call them back and see how they answer.  Usually it's with the company name.  If you don't catch the name, ask (I'm sorry, what did you say?  "mumble mumble"  I still didn't catch that.... "so and so collection agency".  Once you have their name, hang up.  Or if you don't want to be rude say something like "oh I was trying to reach so and so airlines".

Now you have a name you can post here and everywhere else.
