I got a phone message from this number at work advising me they were calling from the financial crime division and that leagal action was pending against me.  This is in sdirect violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  To threaten legal action over the phone, especially in a voice mail is totally unethical.

I received a call from this number and left the same information. There was no background information left such as the name of the company or anything. What is this company and the basis of their business? Is this a a legitmate call or scam?

I received three calls from this number in a period of two days, all with the same message. The message was very loud, hard to hear due to static, and the woman speaking had an accent making it hard to understand her words. However, each time, they said the message was for, as far I could tell, a Kimberly Star and her friend, James Patterson. I know no one by these names, and I am very confused.

I received two messages within hours of each other today from a woman with an extremely thick middle eastern accent. She said something about "financial crime division" and that I would be "blackballed" and would be "unable to get a job anywhere in Indiana." I'm assuming it's a Collection Agency. If I'm right, they are violating the FDCPA. Unfortunately, there is no information that I could find to report them. I don't even know how they got my number.

I have received a call from a women with heavy indian accent sayiinf she was an officer rm finacil crime somthing coulnt rerally understand her. They have be calling my cell and my work number also they havent called my sisster's house several times harresing her also. they are saying that i owe money to some loan place and that if i dont pay it they will take me to court. they have left messages and each time i called i got the same personbut with different names and so has my sister. they would not give any information to me about what they had against me other then would i like to pay now or go to court . When i called this number it came up as a florida number. plus when i called number they first answerred it as hello. and that was it . this is harrasment and there is nothing we can do about this.

I have also been getting these harrassing phone calls.  I finally called them back again last night and I calmly tried talking to the man who answered the phone.  I had asked if I could have their address and I would send out a check to them today to clear this matter up, hoping that I could get some kind of information from them.  Well he says they do not accept checks, they only accept credit, debit, or Western Union.  He advised me that if I go to a location that has Western Union call him and he will give the information I need to send the money.  At this time I aked him how much I owed and he rambled off a number of something like $783 and change, never asked me for my name.  I then asked him why he answers his phone by saying "hi" instead of answering it with his business name, Financial Crime Division, he stated that he is unable to release any information until he knows who he is speaking to.  THIS PLACE IS SUCH A JOKE!!!!!!!!  I've tried threatening them with harrassment nope doesn't stop them from calling and the women who calls,  can not understand her, officer so and so. So what me and my fiancee have been doing is actually calling them on a daily basis and bothering them, I know it won't solve anything but I feel somewhat better after doing that. Does anyone know of anything we can do to stop this???

i got this same called today twice saying my husband owes them money and that if he did not call back it would go to court her name is alica smith with some crime division .. i plan on calling tomorrow she said it something to do with a loan but will call find out tomorrow it does not make sence for one you cant hardly under stand the indian [***] in the first place

I get 5 calls a day. They called and threatended my friends. They told me they were officers and going to call my police station and have me arrested. I had to hire an attorney. I am not paying them.

I receive the 5 calls a day from this lady. THe number is not traceable. I had to contact an attorney yesterday. He said most of these calls are being traced to foreign countries. They are in violation of Fair Debt Collect Practices Act. I have it taken care of. I am not paying especially if this is a scam. To all posting please be careful.

i called the number was left  could not under stand anything that they said he asked who call i said some indian [***] that does not speak english they he began to tell me we owe on a loan and he said this is a legal matter and we could settle this out of court and  i told him he a scammer and to stop call my number and hung up on him

I got a call from some strange sounding woman, she then called my son and my dad. I have no idea what this is about. I called the number and got a voice mail, then was told the mail box was full and unable to take any messages. This has got to be fraud at the highest degree!!! Why can't they speak English if they are supposedly from Indiana, yet the area code is Florida!!!! This is fraud as far as I am concerned and if they don't quit I will take legal action.

Just to update everyone, I finally got through to some thick accented man. He hung up on me five times as I tried to get information. He only answered one question!!!! Get this!!! I asked "why does some woman keep calling me and I can not understand what she is saying other than Financial Crime Division of Indiana?" His answer is a riot!!!! "She likes you a lot so next time she calls just talk to her!" Is that a riot or what??? I reported this to the US Attorney General's office, don't know if anything can be done. They are obviously overseas, using a computer to dial through Florida. My suggestion to everyone is to hang up on them just as they did me.

I've been getting several calls from "Officer" Peter Hoffman. I immediately asked to speak with his supv. Both him and his supv. hung up on me when I asked detailed questions. The supv. got on the line and said that he was an atty. When I asked what his ID # is as an atty, he hung up on me. I'm wondering what information they have on me. I wouldn't want any issues with my credit report; I'm trying to purchase a house.

They call me everyday. Today I spoke with "Officer David Jones." His accent was very thick and he would not answer ANY of my questions: what county are you an officer in? who are you representing?, etc. He told me that he had an affidavit that had my name on it with three charges because some company was pressing charges against me. Mind you I don't have any payday loans or anything. I asked him if he was a lawyer and he told me no, he was "Officer David Jones." I asked him where he was an officer and he ignored the question and told me that I had to report to the courthouse on Wednesday morning at 11am. I asked him where and he told me not to yell at him and let him finish. The number is untraceable so far. They call me several times a day and leave messages. Always get the messages from a woman who says they are "Office of Finance Crime Division" or something to that effect. It's ridiculous. I believe they must be some collection company, violating all kinds of rights and acts and whatnot. It's insane. And David Jones!??! Come on! Could they have possibly chosen a more generic name?

I was called by Officer David Jones of the Financial Crimes Division Department wanting to talk to one of my friends.  I am still piecing together the information but it might be tied to a money order I wired once to that friend in Las Vegas.....looks like their database may have been stolen.  Total crap. Sounds like from India.

These people keep calling me, harassing, me threatning friends and family with legal action.

I have been calling these people for a client and running into a lot of trouble with them the 772 area code and the 401 area code seems to be working together. THIS IS A FRAUD!!! Do not give them any information. I am trying to make contact with PayDay's legal department as this all seems to be steaming from this company. They are selling your information, do not use PayDay and do not give these people any information. I have told our client to contact the Attorney General's office and the State Police Department. All of you should do the same thing to make this stop. The AG's office has a lot of free resources to assist you, and they can bring the necessary charges.

This number calls me on a daily basis! I have been called 28 times in one day! When I finally called them back after listening to the voice mails about someone coming to my house to investigate me someone answered. The voice mails have been the same male voice using different names. Adam Smith, Greg Smith. They are not bright enough to change the last name. I asked for Adam Smith and they put me on hold for 20 minuets. I was finally fed up and hung up to call back. Just some guys voice mail picks right up, No ring or anything! Well I'd like to see them come arrest me.
