I received a voicemail from this number stating they are CRS & Associates and the call is about a returned check.  The recording states that I have 48 hours to call them back or they will work through my county to resolve the matter.  I don't have any returned checks.  This is fraud.  I am not calling them and I would encourage others to ignore them.

The same exact thing/ message happened to me!!! SCAM!!

I received a msg from this number from a guy named Mark from CRS Associate. He stated that I have a receint returned check from my bank. I don't even use checks. I don't think anyone does anymore.

I also recieved a call the person said his name was Mark (probably fictional) and I needed to resolve the matter in 48 I did not return the call and have no intention of doing so

I received recorded message saying I had a returned check,48 hours to resolve ect ,ect.I do not have any returned checks and believe its a scam of some kind.Do not intend to call.

Same thing happened to me. But they changed the name to Whitefield. Beware! It's a scam.

Same O same O I had to call verizon to have the number blocked as they kept calling and believe me it happens again I'm calling the FEDS

I also got the same message from a Mark Whitfield @ CRS Associates with a case# and a message saying you have 24 hrs to return the call or you will be reported to your local county. I called my bank and there is no problem with my account and they advised me not to call the # back and report them to the sheriff department

I also got the same message from CRS Associates with a case# and a message saying you have 24 hrs to return the call or you will be reported to your local county. They said to dial 9 to return the call.I hung up.   I called my bank and there is no problem with my account and they advised me not to call the # back. Did you call the sherriff department?

I also received a voice mail from this phone number stating that the company has 48 hours to respond, else they will work through the county on the returned check problem. Then when I called the number, the mail box is full. This is definitely fraud!

I just called the number back after getting a voicemail on my work cell phone. I spoke with a woman named Lisa Williams, gave her the case number, and she told me they were a mediation firm and looking for someone with a name I hadn't heard before. She said she would have my number removed from their system. She was very professional and helpful. I have been getting increasing numbers of calls for other people. I guess if you don't pay your bills, best to give out someone else's phone number. Legit companies will not bother you again if you are not who they are looking for.

Just got this same message (11/21/12).  I checked my bank statement and it's fine.  After checking on here, not only am I not calling back, but I'm confiming that my numbers are on the no call lists!

received call from crs associates yesterday 11/19/12 - case number 419367.  complete bs....when i called them back @ 7739777338, the voice mail was full.  Since my credit score is over 800, I know I have no financial issues.  I couldn't get the guy's name though.

I got the same call today again (they called several times before and left voicemails), I just happened to answer the phone and heard the message, so I press 9 to be connected thinking I can just ask them to please take me off their list.  Some guy came on the line answering the phone as "sheriff's office" and I asked him to take me off the list, he was rude and said that this is a legitimate business.  I told him I didn't think so, and everyone is complaining about this prank online anyway.  He said that if I was being nice maybe he would help me.  I got mad and just told him I didn't need his help and hung up.  If it was a real sheriff's office, he would have said his name and rank, wouldn't you think?

I received the message also, called back to fine out and the gentleman was very rude.  Told him I work for a law firm and reporting them. He hung up... :(  Shame on them..
