See my long-winded, but useful (I hope) message on 800notes. Maybe these guys are trying to run up a person's phone bill - if that can be done with 774 number.

Claim they are a civil investigations unit.. Message gives claim/affadavit number and says 'you' are the respondant and to forward this info to your attorney .. then gives this phone number and says you MUST CALL.  also says there is a restraining order against 'you'.  crazyness i tell you

This is the same outfit who called me using a different Boston exchange last summer.  this is a RIP OFF.  they want to frighten people into calling back and giving them credit card info for"debts" that don't even exist. I filed complaints with both massachusetts and federal authorities last time. they just keep moving to new Vonage or VOIP numbers and keep calling...just scammers and thugs and thieves.. DONT worry but file the information and keep telling the authorities till they shut this sh*T down for good.  I don't owe any money to anybody that is uncollected and I have no civil or criminal actions pending.  If someone is going to sue you they have to serve you papers with a sheriff or a subpoena processer.  at the very least, you get a letter from a legitimate collection agency.  A**holes.

They used my maiden middle name, So I called them back out of pure curiosity - saying I owe $2,074.12. And that a sopena (sp?) will be mailed to us. This is complete garbage I keep every piece of every bill ive had for the last 7 years at the very least and they got my cell # too. How do I make this stop

Called for my sister-in-law on her home phone and my phone saying the same thing as reported above about a civil investigation. Location is Wakefield. Sister-in-law called back concerned, only to be on hold for over 30 minutes. If this were a legitimate court issue, papers would have been served, not a phone call.

Thankfully I heard about these calls and told my sister-in-law to not respond until I looked into it. I really wish there were a way to track these people down and lock them up for good. In my opinion, you forfeit any constitutional right when you are a scammer or slime ball.

This animated phone call said that my dad had been reported in a civil investigation and told me to contact an attorney and call back within 24-48 hours. It even gave me a case ID number. Needless to say I haven't called back.

File a complaint with the FCC when this phone number contacts you.  This business is supposedly going under the name of "National Legal Corporation."  What they are doing is very illegal and they need to be stopped.

I have been getting the same message and I know that my family doesn't have any debt or restrainting issues with anyone so this must be another Scam out there.

Got a call, bogus they didn't even know my name and tried to get it through the phone. Don't call them, call the state attorney instead.

It is an FDCPA violation whats this [***] from this company are doing. Anyone can sue them for what their doing with these robocalls...

they called said a restraining order had 24 hrs to appear.  now  i know  i have no restraining ordeer  .  i screenshotted the caller id    EMMA CHANEY   1774-2218770. I HIT 2 AND DISCOUNNECTED TO REPEAT SHOULD I CALL SOMEONE?  PHONE COMPANY?

They called twice this morning saying I was being named in a civil lawsuit and also a restraining order was issued. There was a case number and used my nickname not my legal name.  They also said to contact your attorney. What I want to know is who do I call to issue a complant.

These crooks have called twice claiming to be calling for my husband's ex-wife, under her current married name. Now, she hasn't lived here for nearly 20 years and didn't marry husband #2 for years after that. And even if your entire acquaintance with the law is watching TV crime drama, it's pretty easy to tell they're throwing together scary-sounding legal mumbo-jumbo if you don't let "oh no, LAWSUIT" panic you. Not the smartest scammers out there, but annoying.

Thanks for all the previous comments. Received call this morning giving same details as previous complaints stated. Will call FCC and report them.
