I am on the national do not call list and have gotten 3-4 calls a week from this number.  The caller ID shows APP Consmer Srv (which I assume to be thier abbreviation for consumer service).  If I don't answer there is no message left, and if I do answer, no one speaks up on the other end and hangs up.

I don't know who this is, but I've been having the same experience with this number. I called the number back and got a recording where I could press "1" and get removed from their call list.

Ditto experience as Sannie V.  I am suddenly being called by these mysterious numbers that do not respond to an answered call, nor leave a message when not picked up.  
The thing is, is every number that I investigate as receiving a call from, the replys are aways the same on other sites...No one knows exactly who these idiots are or why they are calling, and what ever happened to the DO NOT CALL LISTS that just about every living ,breathing phone owner as signed up for!  This is not only intrusive to our privacy, but are usless to whatever gain these companies hope to achieve.

I've received calls too - same experiences as others here.  Wonder if the 2nd edition of the book "I.T. Wars" will cover this stuff?  (Google it if you want...)

I get calls from this number at least three times a day but they hang up as soon as I answer. I call the number back from my caller ID and the recording says they will remove my number but it hasn't happened! Who are these people?

Same here.  Started about a few weeks ago.  Call 1-2 times a day.  This started about the same time as this started with two other phone numbers, (877) 944-9744 (unknown) and (702) 576-0450 (NV, USA).

It's probably a collector for one of the bills you owe.

These idiots called my fax machine!  Obviously, they just dial numbers in consecutive numerical order.    I NEVER answer the phone unless I know who it is.

i received a call from this number ( 7749079221 ) three times.. they didnt leave any message... idk them.. i hope they stop calling..

Stop the calls from 774-907-9221!!!  They wake you up!!  They cause you to fall getting to the phone and then they don't answer!! Surely this is harrassment.

if you just call the number back, it's automated and you can opt to be placed on their do not call list.

For me, it's because I recently cancelled my newspaper subscription and they're calling to try and get me to resubscribe.

It never stops! They call every day!

Don't push any buttons when connected to these fools.
Also in the future do not put your contact number on any forms or online registrations and so on. Even if it has a red* for mandatory. If that's the case put 912-555-1212
I will only give an email address for anyone to contact me.
This is a problem of the future and I will get a handle on it quick. When you answer, it takes an electronic voice print and logs it for later recognition / use. It also can be a way for them to later charge your phone, yes whether it be prepaid or contract. Don't answer it and if you have block capabilities, then block it!!

I have gotten a call from this number at about the same time for the last 3 days. Very annoying, especially since I sleep during the day and don't like to be bothered with nonsense calls like this. Called back and pushed 1 to be removed from the list so hopefully that works.

thought I got rid of these idiots...i actually got a person one night and they tried to get me to do my "local" newspaper again..and they were not even in the same state as me doing this!  I got them to stop THAT number but now getting it again this time from a different state....this is BS and tired of it.   Once again no messages.....and I REFUSE to even pick up the phone...

Someone from 7749079221 called and they said they were with the Houston Chronicle a paper that Ive never subscribed to. Sounded very shady.
