Keeps phoning and hanging up; never leaves a message. I've tried calling number back, but always get the response that it is a "disconnected" or "not in service" number. Creepy but probably a telemarketer. My main concerns: 1) I am on the 'do not call' list and 2) this scammer is using a fake # (checked it with local phone company). Apparently, telespammers are permitted to use fake #'s. Anyone else think that's a public safety issue? After all, anyone can get a fake # if they claim to be a telemarketer. And what's with the double standard?

My friend in Alberta just got a call from this number around 1:37 pm (Alberta time) and asked me to look into it... I find it interesting that there are others in the very same time frame! What part of the world/country are you guys located??? maybe there is a pattern?

I got a call from this number at about 12.49pm. did not answer it.

got a call fr this nbr said because I'm a rogers wireless customer I'd receive a special gift, press 1. I hung up.

I just got the same message about being a Roger's customer.  Annoying.

Computer Voice: "You are a valued Rogers customer, press one to collect a prize!"  Yeah right... I hung up right away.

same thing just happened to me. i missed a call and when i tried calling it back it said the number was not assigned. i dont understand how they can call from a number that is not assigned? and i thought legally telemarketers cant call your cellphones, only your house phones?

Previously a Rogers customer then made the switch to Fido. Got this call today at 3:30PM, said I was a valued Rogers customer (riiiight) and that to claim my prize I had to press "1". Didn't do anything and 10 seconds later it hung up.

Called back for lulz, said the number was "not assigned".

I just got a call from this number 778-263-8989 at 3:47pm and a recording voice ask me "if I want my special gift from rogers please press 1" and than a stupid song is playing????

got a call from this number and when i called back i got a message stating it was not in service!!!!!  so annoying!!!  i never give this number out to anyone....only my family has it...never use it for anything.

I am a Rogers customer. I received a call from this number at 3:45 today. Went to call back and it's an automated message from Telus saying the number is not in service.

I got a call from this number at 3:31 Vancouver time.  I missed it, but then called back and same thing as everyone else, not assigned.  Strange that so many people are getting calls from this number all around the same time!

F**king Rogers wireless customer scam.  they have obviously been able to get the number list from the company and catered theirscams to the specific wireless companies.  KUDOS YOU SLEAZY [***].......

It's a long distance scam, if you press 1 you give the calling party the ability to call long distance on your dime.
