Received a text message from 40490@VTEXT.COM to call (778) 776-9991...."an account issue".  This has to be a scam.  I did not return the call

Got 2 text messages within 30 minutes of each other
one from  027810@vtext.com saying (ALERT) Contact 7608880229  ChaseIssue

one from 781023@vtext.com  saying (ALERT) Contact 7608880229 OR 7787769991  ChaseIssue

the text message reads..."Contact 778 776 9991. Account issue."

I received a text from 201772@vtext.com
"Contact 7787769991. Account Issue"
The number above is a hypertext, so it's easy to press and dial the number. The call is answered by a recording saying my credit card needs verification or will loose it's debit capability--and starts with the number 5388 (or something like that).
I don't have any cards with that number. The company is never mentioned.
THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM!!!

I also received this message, called the number and got a recording of a pleasant sounding woman asking me to enter my debit card #. I hung up and called my bank to find out everything was fine and it was probably a scam. Does anyone know of a public authority pursuing/tracking these scammers? Or do the authorities only get involved AFTER the fact?!

Received text from nottice@vtext.com -- all it said was, "Call (778)776-www1"  I did not call it, especially since notice was spelled wrong in the sender address.
