Robot dialer from someone in Alberta. I'm on the do not call list, so this call should be illegal.

"Because you are a recent Canadian Tire customer, you can receive 3000 travel dollars. To accept press 1." or some crap like that.
I immediately hung up.

"Travel dollars" ha? Rriigghtt....

Dude I just got called from that number, man I hate these calls, why can't they just [***]!

I just got a call from this number..... someone seems to call every week, I don't answer these.  I'm tired of having solicitors calling my private cell phone.    What can we do about it?  Any ideas.

Just got a call from this number to my cell phone..."because you are a valued Bell Canada customer, you have won 3000 travel dollars, press 1...." I hung up. I'm on the do not call list so why am I still receiving this.

Same thing as others have reported: Since you are a Canadian Tire customer...get $3000 travel dollars...
What bugs me even more is that this was to my cell phone, so I get to pay for the stupid call.

I received this call and screened for messages.  No message left.

Just got this # calling me.. Did no answer.. I called back, it says that # is not assigned.......

this # calls me every week..and the same crap..i have won blah blah blah....i hate this

Just got a call June 28, 3:50 CST from Alberta.  I didn't answer it cause I didn't recognize the number.  Googled it and link took me here.

I just got it too, on my cell (I don't give out the number.) I didn't pick up, because only a few people would phone my cell and I didn't recognize the number. Figures, it's a scam. Thanks for the info!

I just got a call from (780) 851-8989 (Alberta area code, Edmonton area?) on my cell phone. If I don't recognize the phone number, I don't answer. No message was left so I can only assume this was a telemarketer, a scammer, or a survey company. These calls are very annoying and on the increase, both to my land line and my cell phone Googled the number and was directed to this post. I  just wish they would cease and desist once and for all, very frustrating !!!!!

I got a call from this same number! Definitely a scam! Canadian tire customer receive free travel points. Funny because I hate canadian tire and Bell mobility. I have never been shopping nor have a service with either company. This is very annoying. For those of u who got chraged for these calls, I feel ur pain! U all should switch to wind mobile. :p I do not get charged or have a limit to minutes.

Same story here.  And it's not the only scam call I'm getting.  For the past few months I've been getting daily scam calls from a number in Ohio as well.  Is there no way to block or stop these calls.
