3/16/09 This is a vicious telemarketing firm, be very very careful. I've waited to the end, and usually select #9 to stop calling me.  And I've actually talked to them and asked them to stop. But today they taught me a nasty lesson. I selected "#1" this time to speak to a representative. I got "Cara", and explained nicely (heck I wouldn't want to do their job) that I wanted to be removed from their list and she blew a loud "whistle" in the phone. I still can't hear and have a horrific ringing in my ear.

THEY DID NOT ANSWER--I FIGURE THEY ARE DETERMINING IF I AM AT HOME--IF NOT THEY WILL CASE THE PLACE FOR ROBERY

this is some sophisticated scam weve gotten a call from the idiots the last 3 or 4 days from different phone numbers. all numbers that are disconnected.

They just called me about ten minutes ago, and I, too, heard just a cough and then the phone went dead.

Nothing heard...just a hang-up.

I got a call from these people too. When I called back I got the message "Thank you for calling us back. We will make this the most financially rewarding call you made today". I hung up at that point.

I did not answer, figured it was a telemarketer.

Did not answer.  What with this Auto Warranty scam.  It's epidemic!

Caller ID registers "Warranty Alert" from (786) 369-7342.  They are probably just using technology to cover who they really are anyways.  Can someone get an address to mail them a payment?  Play along and see if you can obtain that!

I have no idea who this message is from and am not able to get a response when dialing 786-369-7342.  Investigate and prosecute who ever is behind this.

I get these on my cell phone as well. Just press the appropriate button to speak with someone. Then use the most inappropriate language on them!

I answered - recorded message said I had a chance to renew my auto warranty.  I elected to talk to a representative to find out who's calling, and be put on their donotcall list. When I asked what company "Ashly" represented, she very nicely replied they represent all types of vehicles from all car manufacturers (no company name).  Her niceness turned to rudeness when she ubruptly hungup on me as I started to say "I have been contacted before and was suppose to be put on their not call list".

Last year I received a lot of similar calls.  The worst was the callers that didn't say anything then hungup. These calls started when my husband was out of town, so I was a little nervous that someone was watching our house and became concerned for my personal safety.  Nothing bad happened and eventually I attributed all the calls to the same or related telemarketing tactics.

The authorities told me that to stop the calls, I needed to IGNORE THEM COMPLETELY (i need to hang up when i get a recording, don't choose to talk to the representative, and don't call back the caller id number from the hang up calls even if I am just trying to get their name).  I IGNORED all suspect calls and the calls eventually stopped.  The authorities also told me its common for people trying to steal your personal information to use the same phone tactics.

If you want an auto warranty, get one from a local dealership or business.

Tired of not answering, I thought that maybe they would have souls and honor a request to not call me again.  I got Tim who quickly asked for year, make and model and I said that I would have thought that he would know that since they called me with their (8th) 2nd attempt to extend my expiring warranty ( which expired 2 years ago.)  He just crushed two of his phone buttons twice and hung up.
Hmm, I guess I should have ignored the call.

Just got a call from this same number...didn't answer it.  Then googled it and found this site....thank you to all who posted here.  Now I know to keep on answering it!  I'm going to renew my "donotcall.gov" request immediately.  I think you have to renew this every 6 months or so....

Oops...scratch what I said above...I meant keep on NOT answering it if I get future calls.  I guess that's the way to get off their lists.  That, and renewing the donotcall.gov request.
