Calling for someone with my approximate last name and a first name I've never heard of, telling me they need to resolve a complaint from one of their clients and that it would be in my best interest to call them back within 24 hours. Like hell I will! They also mentioned something about my name and social security number--sounds like they are trolling for some poor sucker who is scared enough to give over their personal information to these scam artists.

Received a call from someone looking for my brother.  He mentioned his name Chris Vial.  Provided a case number and the number 1-800-210-0836 to call back (with extension).

They left a message for my former renter on "my" home phone. Renter lived in my garage apartment 20 feet from my house. Stated a complaint had been lodged against her by someone name Tonya, gave a case number, and that she had 24 hours to respond. I did call them back because they had called my home phone and this person never lived here, besides, I had been getting many calls for her and wanted to know how they got my number. Most said that she gave them my number but these guys said that they had her address and looked up the address to get the phone number, which was my address and showed my name and phone number "not hers". I gave them what for and told them that she rented my garage apartment but never lived in my home and that this number was never hers, and that they needed to remove my number from their listing because this was harassment. That they better not call here again. They said they would remove my number, we'll see if they do. If not, guess I will be needing a good  attorney to go after them. (From what I have been reading on the internet about this 800# these people are not on the up and up, even if they are a collection company they are down right falsifying messages for people to call them back) And by the way, at least for now, I have their message still saved on my machine, just in case......

I received a voice mail from someone with a heavy NY accent, asking to speak with my ex husband (of more than 7 years) or his attorney. He referenced a case number and left this number as a call back, with extension 63862.  When the voice mail to that number kicked in, they said "Thank you for calling UCB. Please wait for the next available operator."  Later, there was another VM, stating operators were all busy. If you received a call, please leave your full name and reference number.

I'm really hoping it's a loan shark trying to collect on a debt.  I left my own number and when they call... I'm giving them my ex's mobile phone number, as well as his parents! hahaha... he deserves it!

I recieved a call from a man of Rudy Griffen who left the refrence # and an ext. 3803 on my machine for my ex- husband he stated in the message that my husband and I were listed as close family and or friends. I hope also he is in some kind of finacial trouble. haha That's pay back for 6yrs of no child support!!!!!!!! Nail the man to the wall. I will be ticked if they think I will take care of his problems!!!!!1

Claimed to work for New York City but, did not state which department. The call is from UCB collection agency. Isnt their a law against impersonating a goverment employee?

For the last couple of MONTHS I get phone messages from this company, that won't identify themselves, only leave a refernce number to call back on, AND they call EVERY SINGLE DAY with the same "robo" message. and even call on weekends (there they leave no message) but are still "unknown caller", and "unknown ID".  I became tired of the calls, and started to keep a record of the voice mail.  I have no intentions of calling someone just to talk to someone who could care less about my concerns, nor do I believe I owe anyone, any monies.  If they are that concerned, let them send me a company head letter, and have the guts to identify themselves.

Terry, and Tonya, both claimed to represent Microsoft, though both refused to provide a website or a physical address. It took a bit of prying but Terry reluctantly yielded a phone number and then refused to answer any other questions. Again, she kept insisting she was from Microsoft!

A "Mr. Rose" called, asked to talk to me (my wife answered), and he said it was about "Citibank affairs". She thought he said the company was UCD but could have been UCB. We don't owe anyone anything (no overdue bills I mean), so unknown why they called.

Received a voice mail that contained a garbled first name, 1-800-210-0836 phone number, ext 63742 and a 8 digit ref. # . After reading the posts here, I know it was a bogus call and I will not call them back, placing my number on some data base. Anger is all they will get from me, and maybe a legal action if they bother me again.

I want these scamers to stop calling my phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received a call from UCB today for my aunt. The caller would not give me any information about why they were calling, only that they were handling a "private mater" for her at their office and needed to give her an update. they said the number they had for her was disconnected, when asked the number for her they gave was one she hasn't had in 12 years. When I told the man the best i could do was take a message there was a long pause before he said "wouldn't it be easier if i left my name and a call back number?" The name he left was Chris Temple, and the number was 1-800-210-0836 EXT: 63736.
