This shows up on my caller Id sometimes.
    research showed it was another
    federal bond collection agency number.

800-672-0411 is another number of theirs.
I just report them to the do not call list
because I have No relationship with these people!

Crazy guy called looking for someone who hasn't lived here in 7 months and was borderline harassing me for this person's new contact info.  I asked if they were bill collectors and he wouldn't reply (the guy they are looking for gets lots of collection agencies calling here looking for him...what a tool).  He was really rude and condescending to me, and I wasn't the person he was looking for.  It's crazy

A representative called asking for someone who does not even live here. as soon as I told the that they got a wrong # they hanged up and the same person called back giving a different name. When I confronted her with the lie she said that it was someone else from their company . As soon as I hang up she called again the the home number.

This number belongs to FBCS, Federal Bond Collection Services. They are an extremely sleezy collection agency based in Philadelphia that specializes in trying to collect very old debts known as time-barred debts. These debts are barred by law from being collected via any legal means as the statute of limitations to sue the person in their home state has expired. (5-7 years in most states) In lieu of legitimate means to collect the debt they use trickery, intimidation and lies to get people to give over their bank acct. or cc numbers to pay bills from 5, 10 or even 20 years ago.  Unfortunately lots of people don't understand their rights and give these crooks money. Never, ever talk to them or give them any information as they will try to milk you dry. They will call from numerous numbers including 866-594-8667, 800-220-2018, 866-594-8651, 866-594-8647 regardless if you are on the do-not-call list or ask them to stop. File complaints about their tactics on donotcall.org and http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm and lets hope the government shuts them down.

Thank you Jessica for the information.

I received a call from 800-220-2018 and let it go into voice mail since I did not recognize the number. They left a message saying "This is Ms. Miller. I need to speak with you urgently. Call this number...blah, blah, blah," but never said who they work for or what the nature of the call was. I don't return calls to people who don't give a clue as to what they are calling about.

What you said about them collecting old debts makes perfect sense. I have an old disputed debt and may have handled it wrong because the company was trying to charge me twice what I owed so I just started ignoring them. It's been over 7 years and I haven't heard from them in months so thats probably why the FBCS is calling.

1/13/2009 - mr "Bradley" called from 800-220-2018, said he'd be available for my "convenience till 8 pm", I picked up after checking to see if the Caller ID # and the phone # he gave to call back matched. I asked which company was calling? He mispronounced SBCS, he asked if I was the party he was calling; I repeated the name of the company name he said. He kept asking was I who he was calling, I kept asking what the real company name was and what they wanted...he hung up. Am compiling a database to be submitted with court papers.

I received a call from Mr. Foster at this company back in September.  Since the debt in question was under my ex-husband's name (and I wasn't responsible for it) I called back and left a message to this effect.  I did leave a contact number but never received a call back.  I just discovered that they have been withdrawing money since September from my bank account - taken out solely under my name and never affiliated with the ex - completely without my consent.  Not only that, but I have no idea how they got the banking information since I never gave it to them!  I never even spoke to them!  When I called them to find out what was going on they initially lied and said that they had me on tape consenting to the transaction, then starting threatening me.  When I said that I was contacting me lawyer the man I was talking with - supposedly a Supervisor - actually began yelling at me.  He refused to give me his last name.    Any suggestions?

I just received a call from "Mr. Bradley" and he said he was from FBCS Federal Bryant Services and I asked who he was with 3 times and each time he misspoke the company name. I told him I could take a message and give to the one he was asking for and he sounded as if he was getting agitated with me because I asked him repeatly to repeat everything so I could write it down. He then asked if I was the one he was looking for and I said no he then asked if I was the mother of the one he saught and I told him no I'm her daughter he then got short with me and told me to have the individual call him back as soon as she got home and then when I asked again what this is about he hung up on me. The caller ID gave 866-594-8638 but the message left on the answering machine said to call back at 866-594-8641.

I received a call today from 1-800-220-2018, EXT # 3294.  I screen all my calls so a message was left by a Mr."Rafael Ortiz" from FBCS saying he had some very time sensitive documents in front of him that he needed my input on. He was very SMOOTH and EXTREMELY polite because he was doing his best to get me to call him back.  Only one problem. I am a Collector myself, with 30 years of experience, and I've heard every ploy ever invented!

His ILLEGAL ploy was to have me think I was in some sort of trouble and if I would call him back to discuss this "time sensative issue", I could possibly steer clear of any trouble. He even lied saying he was not a solicitor, telemarketor or "collector" so, I should return this very important call.  He leaves a claim # for me to refer to when I call back, hoping to scare me even further, and to coerce me into returning his call. What he didn't realize is he was busted the minute he opened his mouth.

It is AGAINST the law for Collection Agents to lie about who they are and where they are calling from.  They are supposed to reveal they are calling from a collection office, however, the SLIMEY ONES, leave only initials like "FBCS" so you don't know who is calling and hopefully will phone back.  In addition, they try to purposely slurr the initials to even further confuse you.  Buy law, any Collection Agency is obligated, by law, to advise the person they are phoning, they are a collection company/collector and they are attempting to collect a debt, which my caller, "Mr. Ortiz", did not do!!

I suspect this call was on an old debt I disputed long ago, and on which the Statute of Limitations has expired.  I live in California and our Statute here is 4 years.  Just another law he broke. Agencies also use names like this one (FBCS)"FEDERAL BOND COLLECTION SERVICES", to make you think you are being called by an agency with the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

It's people and businesses like this one that gives us fair, honest, caring collectors a bad name.  I am a reputable collector who works for a reputable business and it makes me sick when I hear of this type of slime!

Complaints should be brought to the attention of the "FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION", which governs all Collection Agencies.

I hope my experience helps someone else.  Please report these disgusting agencies and collectors. They need to be held accountable for their actions!

I received a "settlement" bill from them asking for a portion of the debt owed to them (not that much) from a bank account that I had closed but money overdrawn from it hadn't been paid (I was out of the country and had no idea.) I called them and they told me if I paid the full amount they would wipe the incident from my credit history. Is this true or is this another ploy to get money out of me? I would do it if I know this is true, but they won't tell me either way and I'm not sure how to find out if this is legal or not.

    Someone help!

They called 7:07am did not leave a message... obvious breach of calling time legal guidelines... They are calling my businesses backline and I am sure they have a wrong number because it is a recently reassigned number and I get a lot of collection calls for the previous phone number owner... I will let them know its the wrong number and they will stop calling im sure... For those of you people that are all hostile on this forum, you look like whiney babys... Just pay your bills and you wont have to cry like babys.  Seriously how stupid is it to quote statutes and timelines... It is still your bill and can legally be collected FOREVER.  Dont be a stupid debtor... pay your bills and move forward with your lives... whiney babys... LOL i have great credit and I feel great... join the real club... not the stupid whiney cry baby loser debtor club.

I received a call from FBCS asking for someone who does not live here, saying they have a long distance call for them. It was not a recording, like normal collect calls are. I informed the lady that the person did not live here, that I had just gotten this phone number. I have not gotten a second call back yet, but from reading this above information, I expect one. So just be warned that they do not announce first thing what they are calling for.

I have gotten several calls from this number and 866-594-8651.  According to "Consumer" if you tell them they have the wrong number they won't call again.  Think again sucker.  I probably have better credit than you and I get calls from these slimebags weekly because someone with the same name (except the middle initial), in the same city owes money.  They will call you back and there isn't much you can do about it except report them and even that does no good.  I've got so many letters from the FCC referencing my complaints that I had to get a new file cabinet.

I just received a call from a Trey Astillero also claiming to be with FBCS. I asked what the call was in regards to since I know the person who previously had my number and he wouldn't tell me. He got rude and tried to ask me how I conveniently ended up with my friends number. When I told him that it was none of his business he got even ruder and told me to take a message. Than when I said I would and was writing down the information he said" ma'am do you even have a pen and paper"...you know what...screw him. Hello I'm at work so yes I do have a pen and paper but I wouldn't pass on his message anyways. He's rude and wouldn't provide any information to me so why would I?
I've blocked the number for future calls. I don't have time for people asking me to do them a favor while being rude!!!

They call me every single day telling me how I owe Bank of America $100 or something like that.  I like to screw with them and play along along for a while and then let them know i know they are a fraud and then be rude and inappropriate to them.  I figured I'll try to bother them as much as I can if they are bothering me everyday.

I have received phone calls from these people on a daily basis. I have no idea what debt they think they are trying to collect on, but I know that none of it is legal. I have rejected all of their numbers (refer to previous posts), but they still call every single day, at least 4 times a day.

To consumer: I have paid my debts. These people are trying to collect on debts that were already paid years ago. If your credit is so great and you have never had any debt issues in the past, these people wouldn't have your information to begin with.
