Kind of the opposite of a normal post. After getting the phone number from the back of my card, I called Citi / Citicards about a card I (obviously) already had, and in talking with them about another Citi card I was considering, they transferred me to the applications side without me having to redial. We discussed the offer and I opted to think it over. She told me if I wanted the unique offer we were discussing - - not necessarily one seen on Citicards.com - - to call 800-248-4226. After the call I wondered what an Internet search would show for that number: As of April 2014, basically nothing! So I'm posting this to WhoCallsMe.com for my fellow Internet 800-numbers call checkers! For the record, this may not be Citi per se, it -could- be a marketing firm hired by or associated with Citi.

I had the same call today and I gave my full SSN. :(.

This is not Citi!!!!

Answering Machine picked up..They did not listen to the full message and hung up!  So, it was either a scammer or marketing.  Obviously if you can't talk to the answering machine you can't talk to me.
