This # has called me several times and not left a message. I have a new # and no one has it.

We just got this number. It's UNPUBLISHED - we've only had it two days and 800-257-5722 was the first call to us. We haven't given out the number to ANYONE. We picked it up after 4 rings cause no one knows it .. they hang on the line and don't say anything.  They called us at night.

We use Verizon and do not have cable with them. We don't owe money so it's not a collection agency. Our number is a personal number not a business #.

I suspect Verizon sold our number to this company.

I called them back and "Publisher's Clearinghouse" answered.
A woman named "Leena" answered then transferred me to "Ron" who said he'd "take care of it right now" (meaning removing my numbers from their lists.
Try calling them back.

i also have a new #. a week old, if that. they call, no one there when they call. i call back the 1st time a man answers says its IRL sweepstakes or something, i say well don't [***] call me because its [***], HE answers "well don't [***] talk to me like that!" i respond with curse words and hanging up. i call right back again, a woman answers and leads to tell me that my phone company sold them my new number. i call again, another man tells me i'm entered to win 3 magazines and a trip to hawaii, a diamond watch, 3 more magazines, for $3.36 a week for 60 months. asks my occupation, verifies address , name , and says thanks, hope you win.

I called them back after getting several hang ups.  They answered and asked for Mr. or Mrs.... (and my last name), so they're using caller ID to see who calls back.  We've been selected for a chance to win a trip...blah, blah, blah.  I aksed them to remove our number from their list.

I called them and asked to be removed. After I stated that I no longer wanted to be contacted they continued to try to make me listen to what they offered for "free". I told her there was nothing in life for free and I didn't want to deal with phone calls that I did not ask to get. She nthen got huffy and ioformed me that it would take 30 days to take me off the list.

just got a new number from comcast digital voice, the 800 257 5722 called and and said it was Publisher's Clearinghouse, I told them remove it and do not call again or get reported to the AG office. I also signed up for the Do not call list. This appears to be a back room run type of group. they also call from 800 505 6495 and 800 562-3557.

Next time they call can someone get a location on them, play it up and ask to mail them some money, to see if they give a POB or address!

Below is a call to comcast and trying to get a Unknown Name Number blocking of a previous 800 caller who changed to a Unknown name / numbers.

I have been trying to block a company that is calling our home number ( harassing us with unsolicited offers) I have tried using the comcast feature but it is not working as the company is obviously has a auto dialer with a registration of for both the name and number coming across as  “Unknown Name & Number”.  Can we do something on Comcast part to block this?  The company first started calling the day after I got my new digital phone number.  I was able to block the 800 service numbers but know they are using the “ Unknown Name Unknown Number”  to harass us.

The 800 numbers that I have blocked are listed below, can you have Comcast investigation division get them/ trace them? Comcast should be able to trace the calls in the teleco routing station to the point from which they call.

I apologize but our features work on blocking numbers with by the phone number registered under the line or by blocking numbers who have their display blocked. Since the display shows “ Unknown Name Unknown Number” it tells us that their called id information is blank

I would recommend to contact the company to be removed from their contact list as well as adding your name to the Do no call list.

Again, what about having the investigation unit get involved, it seems crazy that anyone could get a number without an ID.  I told them when they first called to remove me.

I have looked into this for you and I am very sorry but at this time Comcast is unable to address this for you. The only thing that we would advise is for you to enter your number on the states Do no call list and the National one. If after you do this, the calls persist, I would recommend to contact the Federal Trade Commission which the is the Goverment office that is in charge of making sure that the Do not call registries are followed.

We also just got our # and nobody knows our # yet either!  This 800 # used to call our old # too.  No one ever leaves a message and we don't answer because our phone # should be private.  And we did not give our # to this company.  We have digital phone service through Brighthouse who just took our old # away from us saying that World Com owned it and we could no longer have it! Isn't this against FCC laws???

I also just got a new phone from Comcast and the very next day started recieving phone calls from a couple diffrent numbers and I have only given the number out to a few people that I know and trust.  

I signed up for the do not call list. We will see if this helps.

Calls from this # ahve appeared only since I moved and got a new #.No messages are ever left.   I have just registered with the do not call registry.  I am in Pennsylvania and my phone company is Frontier.

We too have just gotten our phone number from Qwest. About 45 minutes after the phone service was connected I started getting frequent calls from this number, the two times I've answered there's been nobody on the other side. I signed up for the no call list before my service was even hooked up. Nice to see that Qwest sells numbers as well as Comcast

Started receiving calls from this number this morning. 4 since 8 AM on a Saturday morning. Kept hitting ignore until I had looked it up. After reading this page, called back, and was informed this was IRL Sweepstakes or something like that. This is an off-shoot of a company named Interstate Readers League that wants you to buy magazines, then doesn't send the right magazines. I'm surprised they called me, since my name is already on their list as a debtor, since I stopped paying when they said I couldn't cancel.

Asked to be removed from their call list immediately. We'll see what happens. Verizon cellular phone number that they got from somewhere.

I called this nukber and it is a scam. they admitted that Verizon sold my number to them. Thanks Verizon, you just lost my business

Be advised Time Warner Cable also sells your new number.  We were receiving calls from this number and various others the day Time Warner hooked us up.

This number 800-257-5722 has called many times in the last few days, no message left.  I just got my new number from Comcast on March 31st and have added it to the Do Not Call list and it's unpublished...go figure.  This is so frustrating that something can't be done about these people.

I called the # back & on my 1st attempt I didn't get an answer. I got a "This is an invalid # recording" instead so I called a 2nd time but this time I noticed my caller ID had failed to put 1 @ the beginning of the # so I manually dialed it in & then got an answer. The call was from IRL(Interstate Readers League) which come 2 find out is one of those bogus sweepstakes from a magazine like publishers clearing house all the way in Atlanta,Georgia. "Yes miss Walters, how are you today" is the 1st thing the man said when he answered. I don't know how he got my Name + # & when I asked him he claimed he didn't either. He was really friendly and personable but when he started offering me a free watch & magazinges I knew what was up. The excuse I got for it not being totally free was that Rolling Stone magazine does is not issued in Oklahoma weekly so there would be a $14 a month charge to ship it 2 me. BS! I didn't ask 4 it in the 1st place so why would I want 2 pay 4 it?

Called to reduce credit card interest. Funny thing is I do not use credit cards. I established my credit without the need for them. Iam also on the do not call list state and national. NEVER GIVE OUT PERSONEL INFORMATION ON THE PHONE. A BANK OF CREDIT CARD COMPANY WILL ALREADY HAVE ALL YOUR INFORMATION SO NEED FOR THEM TO CALL AND ASK YOU FOR THEM. HANG UP!!!

it now also seems that my comcast digital service that use to include call blocker that use to be able to block these type numbers now will no longer do so.  wtf. the number displays but now its like back to the dinosaur ages when call blocker first came out.  guess i'll just disconnect the stupid land line/voip whatever comcast digtital phone service.  i don't want these toll free numbers calling me. what did you do comcast - remove a great service that was working great AGAIN?!
