KEEP CALLING AND ASKING FOR A PERSO WHO DOES NOT LIVE AT THIS ADDRESS

This number called  my work and asked to speak to me in regards to a personal business matter. They have never calle my house, why are they calling my work?

They will never call my home either, they only call at work. So I called thinking it is something that has to do with my job, to find out it is a personal matter.  I refused to talk to them, told them not to call me at work and left my home number and hung up.

This company says they call my house but I never get messages from the and do not see where they have called.  So today someone from there called me at work!  Told me if I didn't make an attempt to pay this that they will send the papers to the legal department and garnish my wages, put liens on my cars, house.  I told them that they couldn't call me at work and he agrued that if it goes to the legal department they have the right to contact at your place of employment.  What the hell is that? Do I not have any privacy?

This is called intimidation.  The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, prohibits this.  It also prohibits the threat of legal action, unless they intend to take such action.  I would also check your state laws.  Do they allow garnishment of your wages. If not then another intimidation tactic. Even if they sent the "papers to the legal department" they must first get a "Judgment".  The days of levying someone's wages prior to a judgment went out in the late 60-'s or early 70's.  Once you have told a collection agency to stop conctacting you at your place of employment, the cannot, even if it is sent to the legal department contact you again.  They may call and verify you are still employed there.  They may also have you served at your place of employment.

I got a phone call from them today saying they were trying to get in touch with one of my neighbors and tried to get me to give them a message to call them, I asked how they got my number and they said they looked up the nearest addresses to the persons house and cross referenced it in their phone book. I told them to never call me again.

They called my work too.  I"m sure it's a scam.  They told me that they were a debt collector called PB Collections. They asked for my SSN#.  I told them they can just forget it and they hung up on me.

They just called me on my cellphone but I wouldn't asnwer it because I didn't recognize the number. They didn't leave a message.

Call Control is the best Blackberry , Android App I have seen .
They call you put them into plack list they get the good old, Pick up phone and hangs them right up.

Registered my version, must have 34 numbers in there blocked. just added these people to the list.

They called today while I wasn't beside my cell. They left a message looking for someone I don't know....

Collection agency. Do not agree to anything not in writing with this company. They will  try and get you to make an initial payment on the "promise" of settling a deal. Insist that everything be in writing.

AUTOMATED MESSAGE FROM THIS NUMBER TO MY WORK NUMBER.  AUTOMATED VOICE SAYS TO CALL 800-270-9685 BUT DOES NOT SAY WHO, WHAT OR WHY.  I'M NOT CALLING THIS NUMBER BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHO IS CALLING ME.

They just called my cell.  I didn't answer, but they left a voice mail asking for Jessica Walsh.  Don't know her.  I have had other numbers call my home phone asking for the same person.  I will also block the number.

These people just called me this late at night with a tv and baby crying in the background.Needless to say I hung up.

Called my cell phone and didn't leave a message. Later the same day an automated system called my work asking me to call them back at 800-275-9685. Blocked on my cell phone. Thanks for the post above about the Call Control app!!

They called me on my cell phone...not sure how they got it.  I hung up w/o answering.  Natl Debt Collectors of Maryland.  Next thing I know our house phone rings from 1-855-880-6085 (Monarch Recovery?).  Have no idea who these people are.  We haven't any delinquent debts....

Scam, scam, scam!!!  Please do not fall for this. These people think that since they have your information you'll fall for this.  they could have gotten your info in a number of ways.  If you have every applied for a payday loan, remember how they say we will find a lender that will lender to you.  Well they actually do a search for lenders that have registered with them.  Then they send all of your info out to all those registered lenders and see who will bite. I believe these people are set up as a bogus lender, just there to get your info.  Then they simple run the scam, by saying you borrowed money a couple years ago... knowing most people may have forgotten that far back and may have let something slip.

Do fall for this.  If you are being served papers, NO ONE WILL CALL YOU TO LET YOU KNOW!!  You could just simply avoid them and they don't want that.  Always look the phone number or company up on line and never agree to pay them anything.

Yes, you DO have both privacy and Legal Rights. Which that idiot of a collector was either willfully ignorant of or intentionally in violation of the law. It does not make a hill of beans difference where a collection agency's collector or its legal department is making the call----"if you tell them NOT to call your job-----" By LAW...they can not call your job!...Its best, however to put that (not a request) but a demand...in writing and send it via certified mail...That will put an end to that. I they are calling your cell phone, you can download an app called Mr.Number and block any calls from anyone OR send them straight to VM. I just block these calls and they auto hang up on them so I don't even have to deal with their VMs.
