This is a debt collection agency called ERC...or perhaps ECR, I don't remember. They called for someone named Heidi and I explained that I'd just had my number changed and this must be her old one. The girl was very polite and said that she'd remove my number from their calling list. It should take 24-48hours. I took her name down just in case they call again.

What number did you call to get a person?  I have only ever gotten a machine.

I have called this number to ask them to remove me as I have had this number for 5 yrs and no one named Ramon White has ever been associated with me.
Of course, they still call. What next??

Call 800-658-0054 to have your number removed. It takes 24-48 hours - but oyu do get a human after the recording.

I called 800-658-0054 and pressed 3 to speak with someone; no wait time.  She verified my phone number and I told her that the name they had associated with it was wrong and that I'd like to be removed.  She said she would remove it and it would take 24-48 hours.  She was very polite.  I haven't received another call back.

I got through to a person right away, she was very polite and said it would take 24-48 hours to take effect.

I called the number JDMGR recommended and they assured me that my number would be removed within 48 hours.  Thanks for your help, JDMGR!

6/27/10 I called as they keep calling me for "Ramon" now here it is 1/21/11 and they still haven't removed my number....Gov. needs to step in on this crap already!!

I was getting calls for a girl named Jennifer who does not live here.  I called the number mentioned in previous comments and they removed my number and were very polite.  Hopefully they don't start again in 3 months which has happened with other companies.

I have the same problem as Alice. Company name ERC (800 service on my caller ID). Keeps asking for Salvatore Carlo. If anyone calls you, and you call back- listen to recording and hit the #4 key for customer service.
Suggestion to all: To call go to FCC website (sign up for; do not call. Then you can make a complaint with the FCC and the firm or whoever will get a fined big time.

I received a call from this number at 7:25 this morning. I did not think they were allowed to call before 8:00 am?

Getting several calls a week from this outfit.  I just don't answer.  But am really tired of it.

They have showed up at our house with a badge looking for a Martin. He rented a room from us over 8 years ago. They called us on 08/29/2011 and wanted to make sure that someone would be home to receive a summons. I again told them that he didn't live here for over 8 years. They wanted to know where he is and a phone #. I told them I don't have that info and wouldn't give it if I had it. They gave me a 800 # to call with a court case, and if he didn't call back they would have to issue a "failure to appear" on him.
The next time I will warn them to stop harrasing  us and then hang up. My mom years ago used a very effective way to stop people from calling. She bought a very loud piercing whistle and informed them that I told you to quit calling here and blow on the whistle into the phone and hung up. I will try it the next time the call. Maybe one of those air horns would also work.

Call received from 8002782420 on 10/18/11 approximately 1155am on my cell phone which I have not used except to call home.  The robo voice continued to say "Please continue to hold."  I use this phone only for emergencies as I am a care provider for my wife.  I have never given the number to anyone else.  I hung up and will not accept their calls.

Just called the 8002782420 number, pressed 1 for "wrong number" and waited for the operator and he was very nice and said it would be 24-48 hours and the calls will stop.  No biggy for us really, we don't use our home phone for anything but 911.  I finally set up our voicemail after 7 months not realizing we had 81 voicemails sitting in cyberland and over half of them were for this lida lopez woman and were from this debt collector.  Figured calling them to put them on another track would be helpful!!
