Called and said they were usaa and I needed to call and confirm my info because of my credit.

called and said they had to talk to my husband about his usaa credit card.  Hmmm, numbers did not match up with contact numbers on usaa website so not calling back

Very odd, but it was actually usaa.  I had scheduled a credit card payment online and they were calling to confirm.  I did make them find my info without my usaa number or without giving my credit card number.  They were able to.

Again, not sure why the call, but it sure did sound fishy at first.  Not like usaa to call in this manner!

Called me at work with a very poor connection. Not calling back. They left an urgent message with my shift commander for me to call. Number doesn't match up with any numbers that I have for USAA. I'm not calling back.

They called me twice- left the same number saying it was USAA calling, but the person did not leave their name. I went to the website and didn't find any such number. I called their main number and they told me it's the collections department. In my case- a misunderstanding. But that did kinda freak me out at first.

Got this call on a Tuesday, 9/15/09 at 3:27, I did not answer, they did not leave voicemail.

This is just USAA! It's not fishy. I think they are just more aggressive about collecting late credit card payments now (because they have to be! that's why banks are going out of business!).

I received a call to my land line and then got an email message on my cell...the message indicated that I needed to call 800-292-8811 because my status has changed. This sounds like a typical scam for me to call in and divulge my personal info. I called USAA from a number that I am familiar with and they confirmed that the number was a USAA number. If you ever have this happen to you, simply just call USAA from their website numbers to confirm.

Do you really think USAA would call with an automated imoprtant message?  This has to be a scam.

I just got a call from 8002928811 claiming to be USAA and it sounded sketchy.  I called USAA using the number on the back of my card and talked to the representative about it, giving her the 8002928811 number.  She told me that it was NOT a valid USAA number.

This is collections for USAA.  I have a credit card through them that I have closed and have consolidated other credit cards as well.  My payment to USAA is always a day or two late through the consolidation company so USAA calls me every month to confirm a payment was made.  This phone number is separate since it is coming from the collections department.  Have no fear, it is who they say it is.

I keep getting calls from this number!   After the 2nd call, I called USAA asking did they call me & they stated NO it was probably a scam! I'm still getting this automated calls. So now I've blocked the calls.

I got a call from this number and the lady said she was with USAA debt solutions, she was very pushy and would not let me off the phone until I hung up on her. I then called USAA and was told it was not a valid number. It is a scam to get your credit card info.  Please do not give them any information as you are not talking to someone who will help you.  If they say they are USAA debt solutions, tell them you are busy and hang up!  Better yet, don't answer and don't give them any more information about your accounts.  You should be the one to contact USAA to make a payment or do so online.

It's USAA... I'm 4 days late with a payment and these guys have me in the delinquent collections phone call system.  Not even a nice reminder... Nice! Way to go! Especially since this is my deceased husbands card I NEVER signed as responsible for.  Never was on my credit report until he died. Then suddenly they say I'm responsible and it magically appears on my credit report. Way to treat people USAA.

I got a call from this number on both my home phone and cell phone. It seemed odd, so I called the number that is on the back of my USAA card. The rep from USAA told me that 800-292-8811 is not a USAA phone number.

I dont have any accounts with usaa, but they left multiple message talking bout a credit card with them.

so i am not the only one who keeps getting calls from this number.  i do not have account with them and thank-you for the information on who is calling me several times a week.  if a number is not on my list i usually do not answer.  Thanks again.

If you arn not an authrized user on his card than you have no legal obligation to pay.  Just call a number for usaa that you know and have the card closed due to death...that usually takes care of it.
Contact the credit bureau with a letter stating that he is deceased and they will remove it off of your credit history.  May have to prove it with a decased copy.
