General Revenue

Out of the blue, on 1/12/12, I started getting calls several times a day from them.  I finally called back.

I have defaulted student loans which my wages are being garnished at 15% by this company (General Revenue/USA Funds).  I sent an appeal to the Dept. of Education because it is causing a financial hardship.  Keep in mind, this company has been garnishing me for over a year.  My appeal and request for heariing were processed by the DOE on 1/10.  My goal with the appeal is to have the garnishment removed.  Given my financial situation, that is a possibility.  SO two days later, this company calls me saying they want to reduce my garnishment from 15% to 10% + a $50/mo. rehabilitation payment.  NO.  They haven't contacted me AT ALL this whole time, and now that I'm advocating for myself, here they come with some bogus deal.  The phone rep, Kyla #Q31, even told me that the garnishment would not be removed... like it's her call. It isn't.  That's for the hearing and review board of the DOE to decide.  When I asked what prompted the call, she said they were trying to save my credit.  What?  You've been garnishing me for over a year.
