This abuse is still going on more than a year later. I have gotten three calls just this weekend.
They claim to be "CitiCard" and give a "personal access number" to "pick up your message",
but when I called CitiCard's Customer Service to check on my account (using the number on
my bill, *not* the above number!), they had *not* robocalled me. So this is definitely some kind
    of phishing scam.

They said they were from citi-card. Knew acount balance etc..
I made the payment, but they never took the money out.  Now
    the real city-card is unhappy.
    • Caller: Citi-Card?

I got a fishing call from this number, trying to get me to pay a non existent over due balance of $40 using a check by phone.

I hung up and called the number on the back of my card.  They said that is not a citibank number

Just got a Voicemail telling me tothe call this number & an access code. Said it was Citibank. Seemed fishy to me so I didn't call back. Glad I didn't. Scary how the recording had my name.

got a call from 816-420-1002 twice today.  robocall left message that was from Citicard, and to call the 800 number this post indicates is a scam (800-298-6359), and gave a personal key code to enter.  agreed that it is not good that they had my name somehow already.  glad I do NOT trust calls like this, and that others have shared that this is indeed a scam.  I blacklisted the number using Call Control app on my Android phone, so they won't be able to do anything except maybe leave voicemails.  hopefully, they will give up quickly.

Just got a robocall same as above from number 816-420-1002 claiming to be from citibank. They told me to call them back at number 1-800-298-6359 and enter a 6-digit message code. Complete scam. Sad to see the exact same message scam method is being used almost 5 years after the first entry on here.

I got a message this weekend. It was from City Bank, and left a this phone # and a code # to retrieve my message.  When I called there is robot message said I was overdue my balance of $125. I could pay by phone now and asked for check account number. Then I handed up, and this is definitely a scam!

Left an official sounding message saying it was Citibank and phone number and left a personal PIN number to enter when calling back. The person swore she worked for Citibank. It's a complete SCAM. Don't give any info.

It's hard to believe that nothing seems to be done to stop these people. It would seem they could be tracked via the number that leave.
Anyway, daily calls 4-7 times per day, same MO. I'm going to start picking up when they call, not say anything until they disconnect, it's seemed to work with these other idiots. I hope it cost them money somehow.

I was suspicious too, getting a bunch of robocalls saying my name and my credit card. It turns out it is not a scammer, but the bank's collection agency. If you get calls like this, there is either a bill you are not paying, or someone else has ripped off your credit card number. Check your credit card account online and see what is happening, or call the number on the back of your credit card and get things cleaned up. But don't ignore these messages.

They called and texted today and follow the exact same steps that others had posted. With that many people reporting, why no justice department look into this? They know my home phone, cell phone and collected my area code before getting to the message. I did not pay anything, but they won again by getting more information of me.

This is a phishing call. And it is a  rather elaborate phishing call. They first called me multiple times from a number shown as from Kansas City, MO (816)420-1002. When I checked on that number, there are a few posts saying this is a legitimate Citi Bank call and even cited story that they checked with Citi Bank and it was legitimate. BUT there are other posts stating it is a phishing number. (So whomever posted it as a legitimate call must be from the phishing company.) Today, while I wonder whether it could be a legitimate call, I got a call from this number (1800)298-6359 and stating CitiCard and personal access code.  If I had not checked on this website, I would have believed it and called it back.  So long story short: don't be fooled by this message and ignore it.

    Not Buying It!
I  have started to receive several calls a day from this number and 816-420-1002 for the past several days.  Automated message asks for specific person and wants them to call about owed amount on Citibank card.   I don't owe any money on my card so I know this is a scam.  Does anyone know how to discourage this caller?  or do the calls just stop after a while?  Also has Citibank been hacked?

Just came home to this message.  Glad I saw your posts, tried calling back to see what would happen, 1-800-298-6359 - 6 digit pin doesn't work so they can intentionally connect you with someone to try to take your money!  Total scam.
