These people are debt collectors for Duke Energy of Cincinnati (at least in my case)and the number they leave for you is your account number so they can look up your file.

these people are refusing to tell me where they are calling from.

Calling every ten minutes and then hanging up. I called back, was put on hold, was then transferred (no company name mentioned, or anything other than, sorry for your wait), left a message--gave them my number and told them to stop calling it.

They're still calling every ten minutes and hanging up after the first ring!

Well this company will be in a world of hurt once I get done with them.  They called yesterday and actually discuss the debt with my daughter, altho did not say exactly who I owed the money to.  They then mispresented themselves as "an attorney".  Big no no under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Caller refused to identify the company name. Claimed they were calling to 'protect my privacy'. She wanted my SSN!!Date of Birth, Address etc. I told her she was breaking several privacy laws and that the number would be reported.

Refused to say where they were from or to make matters worse refused to say what company they were. However the caller made himself known as "ERIC".

These jerks called me also, will not identify who they are. I told them to go F*** themselves and that I dont live too far from them...

I keep getting calls from this number, i never pick it up, they leave a message for some hispanic sounding name.

recording says "hi this is ed taylor i'm calling to inform you that your status has changed" then he says to call back.  I've never called them back but they call me atleast 3 times a week. I've only had my home phone a month and I recieved the first call as soon as I hooked up my phone.

These people called me too and even after verifying my name . .STILL wouldnt give me info. They kept asking for my address, work phone, etc. . but refused to tell me who they were! If they would have just told me ..I would have talked tom them. I'm not giving out personal info not knowing who I am talking to!

They left an automated msg on our home answering machine saying that I needed to call today about an important business matter. I figured it must be a bill collector because our land-line phone company provides a service on our line that says, "this line does not accept calls from telemarketers. If you are a telemarketer, please add this # to your 'do not call list'. If you are not a telemarker, press 1 to continue." I called the 800 # back and entered the 6 digit code they left on the msg. Their automated system said it was invalid, and "Tara" picked up the line. I asked Tara who was calling and she said, "a private company." ME: What's the name of your company? TARA: We're a private company. ME: Are you a collection agency? TARA: No. We're a private company. ME: Alrighty then, thanks (CLICK!!!!). If they are a sales company and proceded past our automated anti-telemarketer message, they violated the law. People on this page are saying it's a collection agency. But, they said they are not, and we aren't behind on any bills.

Received a call from this number late in the evening. THey left no message. I tried to call the number back... no company was identified... just asked for me to enter a reference or account number. Have no idea what this company is. I am not behind on any bills and I am on the DO NOT CALL list. Is there anything that can be done about this?

I actually work for this company. It is a collection agency. People just need to pay their bills. If not SHUT UP about people calling. If someone owed you some money you would call them until they paid. PAY YOUR BILLS!

This number is left on my answer machine to call back regarding a reference number and someone with the same last name I have.  They leave messages 3 times or more per week.  I called the number and told them they are calling the wrong number.  I told them to stop calling me.

This company calls for lots of little companies that turn you over to collection. If I had the money to pay my bills, I would have paid them. It's called a bad economy, because it's bad and money is tight, not because everyone has a surplus of it lying around. In order to loan money out I needed to have it in the first place. I need to eat (and alot of times that is optional), and have heat and electricity first and foremost, then everyone else gets their money. When I find the money tree, I'll direct them where to go.

I get calls from this # almost everyday and more than once a day.  I do not owe any one any money and am never late on my bills.  I do not answer but they never leave a message.  If they are a collection agency, I don't know why they would be calling me.  I wish they would stop.  I figure they must not want me very bad or they would leave a message.

I recieved the call on my direct line at work and they left this number, a reference number, and a name for someone to return the call.  The person stated they were calling to verify employment. That was a smooth move there buddy!

I also work for Helvey, and i am the only one working in my household and have a child, yet i still pay my bills, so why is it so darn hard for everyone else to pay theirs, if you work dont you expect to get paid for your services? Its the same thing if you do not have money dont get the services, its as easy as that. Most people CAN pay their bills however wish to spend it on other stupid things. If you don't wanna be called then just pay your bills...HOW HARD IS THAT? I have never been late for one payment.

I am getting calls from this company also.  They have the correct last name, but have no idea who they are looking for.  Who ever it is, they do not live here!  

As for the people that work for this company, keep on sending your comments in writing.  That will just help defend our case when your poor customer service practices end up in court.  Regardless of the situation, owe money, don't owe money, you screwed up and are callinf the wrong number, whatever, NOBODY wants to deal with a bunch of rude bungholes on the other end.  You want us to be polite, practice what you preach.  You don't know a person's situation, and frankly, it's none of your business.  Tell us who you are, and why you are calling.  People would then be nice in return.  You get treated poorly because you do not have good customer relation skills.  You knew the kind of job it was (unless yout thought you were interviewing for a job with a "private company").  If you don't like treating people with respect, quit.  Unless you just get your jollies being a donkey - who knows?

they called and kept saying the persos name they were looking for over and pver and pver  again. then said if you know where to lactae then to call back. very werid and disturbing. from what of you guys worte, i would totally be afraid and watch out and NOT give them ur personal information ok?? thanks!!!!!!!
