Received a short call from these guys on 9/7.
They said they were from AT&T and wanted to gauge my service satisfaction, but needed to confirm some personal info first.
I responded "I do not have any AT&T services."
They responded "Really?" Then *immediately* hung up.

Scam scam scam. I'll be checking my bills to make sure I don't get any fraudulent charges.

I checked my bank statement and it said this number took $213 out of my checking account (which is my financial aid)! Nobody calls me on my cell phone but my Mom. I don't even have service with AT&T, and I have an LG phone! Is there any way I can get that money back?

It is TOTALLY fraud. It happened to me early last week. They took about 300.00 in charges from my account. I'm fighting with the bank now to get it resolved. Unfortunately, there is nothing AT&T will do. You have to dispute it with the bank.

You can get the money back, just dispute it with your bank. Going through this now.

I got a variation of this: a text message indicating that my MicroCell had failed activation. Of note, I do have a MicroCell, but it *successfully* activated 3 years ago. The scammers are faking the same source number that ATT legitimately uses to send such messages, so at first glance, it seems OK. Given the nature of the message, I doubted its veracity, so I Googled the associated phone number which brought me here. Points of note:

    1) the text came from a spoofed, accurate number that ATT sends MicroCell informational texts from.

    2) that number is not a conventional phone number; it's an abbreviated code

    3) the message looks pretty legit in format and content, except that it includes the bogus 800 number for questions/contact. I am certain that if you call it, they will ask you for identifying information that they can then use to rip off your phone service or do other charge-backs.

Oh my god i just fell for this and i am so scared of what will happen.
They called me early in the morning and it was under the name "AT&T Customer Care" and a man with an Indian accent told me if I answered a few survey questions I would get $80 off my next bill. I was half asleep when he called but since it had the AT&T 800 customer service number, I assumed he was legit. Anyway, he asked for my name, birth date and last 4 digits of my social, and asked 3 survey questions, and gave out all the right answers oh my god...
The next day my phone did not have any signal and I had to call AT&T to see what was going and sure enough, my SIM card was somehow deactivated.
I am not so worried about any AT&T charges because I know the company and I can work it out, but whoever called me has my birth date and social... what the F do I do now??? I feel so stupid. PLEASE DON'T ANSWER THIS CALL!

I just received a call from this number.  I never answer calls from phone numbers that I do not recognize, so I sent it to voicemail.  No voicemail was left.  After reading what happened to other people, I'm going to be so cautious about which calls I order, and I will definitely check my next bill to make sure nothing weird comes up.

I've received 4 calls from the 1-800-331-0500 in the span of 1 hour.  I don't answer and they have yet to leave a message.  My cell phone company is AT&T.

    Not an AT&T fan
Got a call from this number, didn't answe, and of course no message from them . I don't have AT&T/Cingular, don't use photobucket, have not heard of the other site mentioned in this forum, and have premium blocking on my cell service so scam services don't bill me for nothing. Hopefully they stop calling- I don't answer calls I don't know.

    FRAUD ALERT
Someone spoofs calling from att's 18003310500 number or verizons 1800 numbers... (Look up call spoofing)
They say its a survey and its to give a credit or something to get the info they need to try and login to your account. Then they upgrade your line and get a new phone sent to them and you just see charges on your bill the next months. Att or any other carrier will never call you.

Just fyi. Someone was trying to access my acct to upgrade to a new iphone at the apple store website. Call ATT or your carrier immediately and set up a passcode for your acct.

YOUR CARRIER WILL NEVER CALL YOU
