Received a message on my home phone from "Miss Myers" from the Fraud Division of Penister & Closson, call back number 404-935-9113. Stated they have a legal case filed in their office against my social security number and driver’s license number. If I do not call them back, they will assume the information is accurate and will proceed with a legal case against me. What rock did this slimy rodent crawl out from under?? They need new scripts, what a joke!! She can pound salt until the end of time. I will file a complaint with the FBI Internet crime division. Call Time: 12:19 PM 7/12/2011

It is a mystery to me why people will make debt and feel like they don't have to make restitution. It seems that people that would make debt and refuse to take care of it are the ones that crawl from under a slimy rock not the people that are trying to get them to make resittution.

I recieved calls from Penister Closson for 3 months. No real threats but was informed they will work with me. I just got of jail for the matter in their office of bad check or pay day loan. They are for real but I thought they were a SCAM, but I learned the hard way on a cash bond out !!! I asked for proof of debt and he told me he would send but i never got. I wish I could have remember his name!

these [***] call from several numbers...they ended up getting someone calling impersonating a Harrison Count police officer (which is in texas).  They told my co-worker she was in trouble for not paying the debts on bad checks.  Well the idiots were calling from a Washington DC number.  We called the real Harrison County PD and they said there was no problem.  These people are real jerks...When you ask for a physical address of their business they refuse to tell you.  Seriously what kind of business is going to refuse to tell you their physical address.  I can only hope the FBI will bust these jerks...THEY ARE THE DEVIL

They are a debt collection agency in Buford, GA. They can not put you in jail for anything. If you went to jail then you did something wrong. If it is for a bad check, you have the right to pay the Hot Check Division in your county if they attempt to file anything, before you can even be sent to jail. How old was your debt? I believe you are amiss about something. Or you work for them. These people said they bought this debt and three other companies that had it before them. So alas....I pulled my credit report which you can get for free without the scams out there legally. I do not have a debt by the name they are saying which is a payday loan. They gave me one of references and I have not spoken to this person in over 8 years so I know that this debt has to be older. Sure enough on one of my older credit report there lists a debt from a payday loan but not the same name as they are referring and it was done in 2004, not 2009 as they stated and it was paid. If 3 other companies had this before them, then obviously it has been a long time since I did this if it is true. I asked for a demand letter, gave her my email address and nothing. She stated it would be there immediately. Nothing....They may not be a Scam but they are trying to collect on very very old debts and they go about it the wrong way. If you feel you were duped, you should have contacted the Federal Trade Commission. I trust no one when they call out of the blue and on my cell phone yet. I investigate before anything is done if at all.

I am all for paying your debts but to call and harass people on their jobs or on their cell phones is just wrong.  Unfortunately things happen that cause people to not be able to pay their debts and in that instance, the companies should be able to provide some assistance other than to threat people.  I keep getting a call from some lady leaving messages on my cell phone.  I don't call her back because I don't know her, she won't state her business and I have paid all of my loans.  I will not give them the satisfaction of talking to me or even threatening me.  It is all pointless.

I wouldn't be surprised if some employee wrote this, yes all collectors are not mean and aggressive that is true but there is absolutely no FDCPA compliant PDL Collectors bc all of them are told to tell debtors it's a bad check and they're going to be sued, all types of penalties and jail

Recieved a call from this number from a "Mr. Samples", he did not give any details of company, reason for his call, etc.,  This caller is not to call my place of business.  How can I stop this number from calling my work?

Did you ever stop to think that sometimes things happen to people and they can get behind on things? Such as a loss of a job, or illness, or anything such as that. People who have never been in that situation should keep their  mouths shut. Something tells me you are a debt collector as I have been one myself.

My experience with these people was quite the contrary... Although I thought they were a scam as well from the beginning simply because they were to nice and accomodating (could have been the particular rep i had). Yes they did make me aware that my acount was at risk of being resolved without my consent in my county. Yes they offered me a chance to make restitution but also told me it was my choice. they were not rude at all!! they gave the facts. facts would piss someone off if theyre trying to avoid paying or just flat out lying!! Pay your bills PEOPLE!!!!!!!

was his name Mr. lackey or Daniel something? I am dealing with these guys and the Mr. lackey was extremely rude. I just want to know if they are a real debt collector or not. I will pay if they are but I am afraid of getting scammed because I am very very low income and cant barely afford to pay my bills let alone Christmas this year so before I give these guys money I just want to know if it is gong to the debt or to a scam artist. Oh and my husband works but we have had to take on our 3 grandbabies plus our own children that is why our finances have went so far down lol.
