- same problemI got a call from them too about my 6 month over due credit card. I found another site similar to this one and found out they are a collection agency.

My in-laws got a call about me from the Law office of Laurence Hecker. I've never lived with my inlaws and we've got completely different last names.
They are very rude. Especially Holly Summers.
We (as consumers) need debt collection agencies to give full disclosure of who they really are and a business address.
Who would give money to someone who can't put an agreement in writing? I'm not an idiot.- Caller: 800-355-0123
- Marc Greer`| 2 repliesThe best way to approach these people is by mail only. Do not contact them by telephone. Use the name of the attorney who tried to contact you and mail them the telephone number you want them to have in their file. Tell them that they are only authorized to contact you at this ONE number. This is your legal right. Mail the letter to (Name of Attorney), 2C South Gold Dr., Hamilton, NJ 08691. Send this to them certified mail with return receipt.
Tell them also that you do not do business by telelphone and they can contact you by mail and give them your correct address. If someone tries to call you at the new number you have given them, just calmly state that you do not do business by telephone and that they may contact you by mail. They will give you all types of excuses and threats, just calmly state again that you do not do business by phone, please contact you in the mail. And hang up. They will eventually stop calling I assure you.
If you get any information in the mail from them (which I doubt you will, but if you do) then state in a letter to them that the balance does not match your records and you would like a detailed listing of how the balance was determined including all interest and fees listed by date. This is your legal right. Tell them in the letter that you understand that by law they are not to contact you again (including by telephone) until this information has been provided to you. That will probably be the last you ever hear from them. That is the case in most of these situations and in my case this has been the case EVERY time. They only attact the ones they feel are weaker and they move on to them.
Don't be one of the weaker ones. Be strong, have faith, and persevere. It will work.- Caller: Laurence Hecker, Attorney
- Mother-in-lawMy mother-in-law received a call from this number looking for her ex son-in-law. It appears her number must be in their directory and now she has been getting calls looking for him. She is worried by these continued calls. They left a message to call Attorney Hecker.

- KristinaMy Landlord received a message from this attorney's office stating that they knew I didn't live there but had used him as a referance and they wanted him to forward an urgent message to me. (Just what I need is my landlord thinking I have legal trouble.) Since the message didn't have any details except the case number and number to call I did not call the number back. I don't have any legal troubles of any kind so wondered why an attorney was looking for me. I had been getting unknown calls on my cell but I don't answer unknown calls. So I figured this was the same thing. Reading the previous messsages here it looks like it is for a collection acct from 2001. Let it go already....
- KarenI received a phone call 3/28/08 and when I called them back, I asked for Michael and a woman took the call. This is on a Rewards666 card that I never used. Had problems activiting the card and I decided after 3 months of not being able to use card that I would cancel card. I did. They placed this acct with this firm and now I am told that I have to pay a payment before the end of the month. LOL After the Woman hung up on me. I called and spoke to Michael, who at first was nice, but than when I told him I could not pay anything till next month he got an attitude. I first told them not to contact me at work, and left a cell number for them to call. Trying to do the right thing and work out payments. He told me that if he did not get a payment by the end of the month he would have to note account as "refusal to pay". I told him if he did he would be lying. He said a lot of different things and I finally told him that I was turing this over to God and he asked me not to bring religion into this. Michael asked what did God have to do with this and I said God has everything to do with this and told him to have a blessed day. Thanks for the info above. I am writing a letter and mailing it. God will do the rest.
- ByrnnarI got a call from a "Maria Ortiz" using her cell phone 609 209-3170 claiming to to be an attorney while at work on my company cell phone. She sounded real cute though. Anyway, I reversed the caller id and found out it was a cell phone from New Jersey. When I told her I had Identity theft, with police reports, and notified her that I was aware of my rights she quickly and abruptly hung up.

- AnthonyReceived a call from John Brown who never came off nice at all. From the start of things he was very rude. He continued to call me at work yelling over the phone and threatening to send a VOD to my human resource department, so I told him to do whatever he had to do. I told him to call me at home and he stated that he did but could never get me. He called my job at least six times that day. I was so furious, so when I got home I called him and told him just what I thought about him calling my job. I told him that I really did not give a dam about him calling me at work, however I was only upset because I could not talk to him like I wanted to due to trying to maintain some type of professionalism. However, I did make an initial $129.00 payment to them but will be making the remaining $275.00 at my leisure. I am mailing off my letter today certified to end the calls at work. That company is terrible.

- LordeetI have had a few run ins with this firm. They are calling on one of my work phone numbers. They are saying that I have an outstanding account. I have told them 3 times now, I want it in writing. Both the charges and the payments of the account. I have gone through a divorce and I truely do not remember this account. I want to make sure it is something my ex wasn't suppose to take care of. If it isn't that it has to be almost 20 years old. I pulled one credit report and nothing was on it,good bad or anything.
They have called my 75 yr old mom and told her to get a message to me about the pending legal matter before I get sued. I will pay the debt, if I do owe it, but can not come up with the 700. I offered to make payments if I do owe it and that wasn't good enough. I guess the next step is go to a lawyer but I really cant afford that either. I am getting so worried and upset I dont know what to do.- Caller: Laurence Hecker
- OThanks for all the useful information everyone. I just got a call from these guys on my cell phone. When I first got the call I acted like I couldn't here the guy. And the second time he called I remembered the phone and did not answer. So I'm just not going to answer those calls. But if I do I will for sure take the advice of what some of you said previously.
Thank You!- Caller: 8003550123
- BeckyA call came from a Lawrence Hecker's law office claiming to need important info on a family member I had not seen in 20 years. Claimed it was very important to reach this person if I could assist in finding them.
The person I spoke with was Ed Kennedy. I cannot believe it is a collections agency and am disgusted that they would so parade as such. - ToddOk this guy calls ,his name is Tony Brewer ,sounds like a mafia hit man ,I have 4 phones and he calls all of them every other day, I dont know what the debt is or if there is one ,and I really dont care, but just the sound of this [***] voice makes me want to puke,I would hate that job ,Oh and the messages this guy leaves are hilarious..I wish there was a way to include a sound bite of this guys calls..truly hilarious, anyway I wouldnt worry too much about these guys calling ,Its all smoke and more smoke.
- KareI got a call from this number. The woman on the phone asked for me by my first name. When I confirmed who I was, she asked for me by my first and last name. I asked her twice who she was but she refused to answer and hung up. When I tried to call the number back I recieved a message saying that the Nextel number was not in service.
- scared...i need some help or advice about these guys. i have spoken to 3 dif ppl over the phone about "an outstanding debt"~they have made a couple offers and none of which i can afford at all right now....we have 2 children, i don't work and my husband is on seasonal work and is about to be laid off again...i asked if there was any way to make smaller installments, but the woman i spoke to (maria ortiz) said in order for me to "lock into" the settlement offer i needed to put 40% down, but even that was waaaayy too much for us to afford right now...she wants to do a 3 way call with my husband to see how much we can put down since he is "the money holder".....i told her i would let him speak to them, but he does labor work and can't exactly "chit chat" at work....and she got rude and said i wasn't the only one that had to pay bills and she had to pay her bills too~i told her i understood, but i wasn't trying to "blow smoke" we SERIOUSLY cannot afford those kinds of payments right now....and informed her again that we have 2 children, i don't work and we literally live on scraps right now~and we cant even afford to pay all our bills this month b/c we had to make sure we have enough for food~("duh")but obvious i was willing to figure out a payment with them that we can afford to do or i would have never called back.....she just carried on with her attitude and said for my husband to call her tomorrow....i don't know what to do b/c they won't back off or be willing to make affordable payments.....
- Caller: Laurence A. Hecker
- scared...oh btw~she also kept asking me if there was anyone i could turn to to borrow the money from and pay them back??? i don't get?!~i told her that nobody in my family has that kind of money and told heres the whole "sob story" but true~and so i laid it out for her about what our family was going through~right down to my aunts and uncles....there was no one to go and "beg" for money....i told that's why i was "begging" to her for smaller installment offer....not to be threatened.....i feel hopeless...does anyone have some advice?....

- ParkerI recieved a call from this law office, but will not call back especially after reading all of the bad reports on this Lawrence Heck.
- SarahParker| 1 replyREAD THIS, DO NOT ALLOW THESE COLLECTORS TO BULLY YOU. THERE ARE STRICT TIMELINES AND IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR IN 4 YEARS THEN THIS BOTTOM FEEDER WHO HAS BOUGHT THE NOTE DOESN'T HAVE A LEG TO STAND ON. THEY COUNT ON FEAR TO MAKE YOU PAY. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR TRICKS.
In the past, if you didn't pay an "unsecured" debt, all it ruined was your credit. New rules allow your creditors to file a lawsuit against you even if you have no money or property.
Your bank may have written you off, but when they sell your debt for pennies on the dollar to a collection agency, the collection agency can file a lawsuit to force you to pay. They can attach your wages even if you have no property or other money to attach. read more below......
Your window of opportunity to avoid a lawsuit and process server is 4 years. After 4 years of no activity on an account, you are not obligated to pay but many collection agencies will continue to harass you long after the 4 years are up because many people who don't know their rights will pay the bill just to stop the harassment.
Things never to say to a debt collector: Tell them to "Cease and Desist" or "Stop calling me" and the next step on
their part may be a lawsuit against you. That's because once you tell them to stop contacting you, you have broken off negotiations and they can no longer call you. . But what they can do is file a lawsuit against you to collect. STOP making payments immediately.
JUST DO NOT TALK TO THEM. MAKE NO PROMISES...IF YOU HAVE NOT MADE A PAYMENT IN 4 YEARS TO THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR THEN THESE BOTTOM FEEDERS WHO BUY THE NOTES CANNOT COLLECT, IF THEY FILE A LAWSUIT AGAINST YOU ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS FILE A MOTION TO DISMISS BASED ON THE SATATUES OF LIMITATIONS, WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE...THESE SNAKES WANT YOU TO MAKE A PAYMENT TO THEM BECAUSE WHEN YOU DO THEN THE STATUTES OF LIMITATIONS START RUNNING AGAIN IN THE COLLECTORS FAVOR. - MarcI started recieving calls from them a couple months ago. Specifically someone named Alan Wolf. As a matter of fact, I just got off the phone with himwhen he called me at work. Giving a false name of course, he told our receptionist that he was one of my customers. As soon as I picked up, I knew who he was.
In the beginning, I had no idea who they were and why they were calling me. When I asked, they we're calling to collect a crdeit card debt from Sept 1999. (9 years ago?) They we're willing to knock off $150 if I paid the rest immeduiately. This 'false' credit card debt had started around way back then. AT that time, the credit card company said I would receive a free 3 month subscription to Sports Illustrated just for getting the card. Sounds good right? Wrong....Next thing I know I have 6 different magazines coming in the mail that I never ordered. I kept sending them back in the mail and called the credit card company repeatedly saying I didnt order the magazines. Every time I called, I got nowhere. Guess what happened next? Over $600 and fees were billed to my brand new card for magazines I never ordered. So I cancelled the card and told the card company I would be fighting the charges. But they called and called and called. Soon after, I was involved in a serious car accident that kept me from working for almost 9 months. I couldn't pay my rent or get food let alone pay some 'false' credit card bill. My Lawyer did the best he could but it still took almost 2 years to settle. It was the other drivers fault but he had no liscense and no insurance. I had to go after my own insurance company. Meanwhile, all my bill collectors were still calling. Including the card company. We finally settled my claim and my Lawyer negotiated lower payoffs to all my bill collectors. Done. That should've been it. But no....here I am 9 years later getting calls and threats from this Laurence A. Hecker office......When I told them this wasn't even a real bill to begin with but it was settled already...he requested documentation proving so. I told them I would try to contact my Lawyer from 9 years ago to see if he still had the records to forward to them. I did find the lawyer's new office and he remembers me and my case. He's not sure if he has the records from so far back considering he also just moved into a new office. But he will do what he can. Since then, they have called me several more times and the threats to make a payment are gettng worse. Today, Alan Wolf became very rude and short with me when he called me at work. He said I must give him a payment right now, over the phone. No more excuses. But I still refused to do so wihtout confirmation from MY lawyer. I even offered to give him my lawyer's office phone number to call there himself. He rudely said that he 'wasn't going to call around chasing people to get the money'....Thats funny, because he's been calling me, my work, my parents in PA, 2 of my sisters, my old job, my girlfriend and even a personal friend of mine. But when I asked him to call the lawyer himself...he refused. The call ended with him telling me I have until 5pm today to have my lawyer contact him with proof OR they will take legal action...
I simply said 'Thank you sir' and hung up the phone.....Unbelievable.
I know I dont owe this money and all he's trying to do is scare me into paying them because they bought teh bill from the card collection company....I've read that his company has tricked people into approving a $50 payment by credit card but then actually running 1 or 2 $1500 payments on the card......SOund familiar to anyone.....I'm not giving them a dime
