Ryan A. from the Children's Emergency something or other. Requested a dollar a day. Claimed they do not maintain a do not call list. Don't charities have to maintain this list by law?

Called on my cell asking for someone - told them it was the wrong number.  They called back a few hours later but there was no one there when I answered the call.  Suggest you call 310-1000 and report the problem.

You can call 800-379-5661 to get your name on their 'do not call' list.

They called my wife, something about Emergency Children's Fund to provide lunches and breakfasts?
A lot of these so called charities give a small percentage to the nominal cause but spend the majority on mansions for themselves and on fundraising through the bothersome Call Centres who keep bugging us.
My strategy is - don't answer 1-800 numbers but if you do get trapped, tell them you don't send money to strangers on the phone.

Canada Christian College fund raising would not take no as an answer, laid on the guilt trip. turns out that the fund has been shut down before by revenue canada. not a good place to give money to.

call the 1800# to get on the "donot call" list!!  You dont have to wait for anyone to talk to, its all done by touchtone.  Just make sure you call from the same number they keep calling...  Its the only way it works.
