- BeBeSaid that they were a marketing company and that a debit charge had been declined the day before. Press 1 to accept, Press 2 to hear again, Press 3 to decline. No name of marketing company no name of bank. Keep calling! Have refused to answer the phone when seeing this number!

- Joel in CalforniaThis is a scam company. Do not call them back or give them your information.
Based on my phone number, he said that there were two charges on the card there were 'pending' and that I would need to accept them or decline them.
When the guy asked for my card information, I did not get a good feeling and told them that I would call the number on the back of my credit card and asked for fraud department.
My credit card company said that there have been no charges on the account in the last 4 days!!!!
This is a SCAM.
DONT GIVE THEM ANYTHING!
Hang up and call you credit card company to verify directly!- Caller: Bank Credit Card Fraud Dept
- JeniFRAUD! Do not give any information!
I received a call that was routed through privacy director. Message left on the machine from mush mouth saying her name was asdpodf calling from "fraud prevention" about recent activity on my garble, garble, garble card with the last four digits of XXXX. Then gave this number to call back 24-7 to go through their automated system to prevent any problems using my card.
Checked online and there is absolutely no activity at all on my card, and I know when my bank calls, they show up on the caller ID.- Caller: Unknown
- Really Not THAT dumbBOTTOM LINE: Always ALWAYS call the number on your statement or on the back of the card. Always. Do not give information about your credit card to anyone calling from this number. And those people who are telling you it's okay to do so are more than likely involved in the scam and simply trying to keep it alive.
- Caller: Visa Fraud Dept

- Apollo replies to skepticTotal scam. Be warned.
- SaviorDo not be a fool, I'm not going to say it's legit or a scam because you shouldn't trust the word of a stranger online. However, I'd highly suggest to make the wiser decision, and call the number on the back of your card instead.
- NightRyderThis is a scam. Do not give them any information. Call the number on the back of your card or statement!
- tzski replies to skepticFraud prevention unit of my CC company. I dialed the number on the back of my CC and the automated system was asking for confirmation of my last three transactions, stating that there had been a block placed on the account. Seemed legit based on the notification matching the info provided by my banking institution.
- rei FAN| 2 repliesThis is a LEGITMATE call from US Bank's Fraud Prevention Dept regarding REI Visa credit cards.
Got a call at work from 800-379-8461. I didn't recognize the number, so I Googled it & it led me here. Noticed a few people here mentioned US Bank/REI Visa. Since I do have an REI Visa, I called the number on the back of my card (1-877-REI-8742). Once I entered in my CC#, they immediately transferred to their Fraud Prevention Dept.
They went over some charges that were logged out of my home area. Luckily, they were legitimate charges, but since the charges initiated from several states away, that flagged it.
The rep unblocked my account. Glad they called because I would have found out the hard way it was blocked probably at while trying to pay at the register.
If you get a call from this number and have a US Bank credit card, but don't want to speak with anyone regarding your account when they call you, you should initiate the call by contacting them with the number on the back of the card.- Caller: US Bank's Fraud Prevention Dept
- peakbagger| 3 repliesWe got a call from this number this morning. The message concerned fraud activity on my USBANK/REI card. I called the number on the back of my card and was directed to the Fraud Prevention line. I entered my CC and identifying information and was transferred to an agent who read off the list of charges, which were fraudulent.
Definitely a valid number.- Caller: US Bank Fraud Prevention Dept
- Hmmm800-379-8461 called; said they were VISA anti-fraud line
- Caller: ??
- Bubblewrap| 3 repliesThis call/VM is indeed from the fraud protection department. I had made some online international transaction which was declined, and my card blocked (which I didn't realize). I didn't return the call to the number above; instead to the number listed on the back of my CC. The call was automatically forwarded to the fraud protection dept since there was suspicious activity on my card. I am glad I returned the call and cleared the confusion.
- Caller: US Bank Fraud Prevention Dept
- smartieIt is a scam. I just called. The people posting that it isn't a scam, must be part of the scam.
