i got a call from this number this morning when i was sleeping. It is quite bothering me.

I'm getting 3-4 phone calls from this number daily including weekends.  No VM. I just answered my home phone said private caller, and only heard a click.  Then immediately after my cell rang with this 800 number again.  Is there any way to stop it from calling?

They have been calling me twice a day for two weeks. I have had two calls in the last hour, and which makles at least three today. The reverse directory doesn't tell me anything. Who is calling?

Got called 3 or 4 times a day from 7am to 9pm everyday.  It is really annoying.  Someone told me it was Telus.  Is everyone a Telus' client?  We need to do something about it.

My caller display says Long distance..what can i do?

If you call that number and press 1 for English it identifies itself as Gemma Communications "a leader in marketing research." It will ask you if you would like to have your number removed from their database and then after saying yes it confirms the number and states your number will be removed from the database within 24 hours.

i just received the call a few minutes ago, 11:25am. so frigging annoying, has been happening for the past month almost everyday once or twice. whhen i pick it up, it just hangs up.
so has anyone tried lisa's suggestion? 2 things come up in my mind. 1st, identity scam, i hope they don't ask me questions and just allow me to get remove from the list. 2nd, i have no idea where the line goes to, dun wanna get overcharged just for calling back.

They called me right now and said they are from CIBC bank and wanted to know my date of birth and postal code what , of course, I have not revealed to them and they thanked me for my time. They are crooks-do not give them any info.

I am assuming it is a Call-Bot, or an automated machine which dials all sorts of numbers and waits till you pick up, then it hangs up, having made a connection. In other words its kind of like a spam-bot, which searches out numbers for telemarketing companies..
DON'T PICK UP ANY 1-800 numbers- if someone does need to get a hold of you they will leave a voice mail.

Just got a call.  Lady said she was selling insurance for CIBC.  She knew my name.  Said I didn't need any insurance.  She was persistent.  Very politely - I hung up as she was talking.  Wouldn't take NO for an answer.

called a noon and nothing of voice or tones of any sort.

i pressed 1 (for english), then 1 again (to request my number to be removed from their database, then a number which wasn't mine was read to me and i pressed 2 (to enter my own number), i entered my number and they said my number will be removed from their database in 24 hours.

I hate this people they are always calling me. I just  ignore their ass.

I bet that the person got this from the Green Party of Canada. I have a dummy phone which got a solictiation from the GPC and then later I got messages from this number.

i just answered the call from them, they are on behalf of CIBC and asked me to buy a so-called travel insurance plan,,,,,,,,,,,

Called and I didn't pick up...it says unavailable name on my caller id...called the number back and did what the previous person said. Press 1 for english and then listen to remove your name from their database :)

Normally I do not mind these calls but this Saturday morning I got a call from this number. My mother picked up the phone and the [***] told her I had called CIBC for an urgent matter to try to get her to pass the phone to me. What type of deceptive marketing BS is this? What are these guys commission based telemarketers? Then when I ask the guy for a reason why he would say that HE hung up on me. Anyways lodged a complaint to CIBC themselves and took my number off the Gemma Communications. If I get one more call from these guys especially using deceptive marketing tactics I will go as far as making sure that caller gets fired cause I am sick of this BS.
