I was called by this number today, and they left an automated message saying that they were from the Royal Bank's Security Centre and that my client card may have been compromised.  Rather than call that number back, I called the Royal Bank directly, and they confirmed it was a legitimate call.

Called twice, answered first call, no response, didn't wait....second call sent to voice mail-no message.

According to a google search that turned up RBC, and according to the RBC website this is a legit number, though I have never been an RBC customer.  The website says the system will leave voicemail if unanswered, but it didn't.

It informed us about a potentially risky use of credit card we made.

This is a legit call. I work for RBC. I was called today. I returned the call. The automated system instructs you to input your telephone number in which you received the call. It will tell you your name then instruct you that your client card may have been compromised (skimmed). If you have a chip card, go to the nearest RBC ATM and change your PIN or proceed to a branch for a replacement and PIN change. Make sure you review your transactions in branch or thru OLB. If there is unauthorized activity. Proceed immediately to the branch so that they can start an investigation to recover the funds. Also make sure you have 2 pieces ID. As always, when in doubt you can always call the  1-800 on the back of the client card or just go to a branch. The automated system will never ask you for your card numbers, date of birth, pin or other personal info. Just the phone number in which you received the call which RBC should already have.

i was called by this number today and it was a legitimate call. I called the number and it is just an automated message asking for my phone number (which i punched in) and telling me that my card was used at a store being investigated for card copying. i was instructed to go to the nearest branch and get a replacement. they didn't ask for personal information or anything.

This happened to me today. Called the customer service number on my card and they looked up the number that called me.  They then confirmed the number and transferred me to the fraud and security department. They let me know that I used my card at a location where a card has been copied in the past but that my account looked good. I was then told I need to go to a ATM and change my Pin to ensure security and that the site has been secured and the machine was changed to a new one. They could not tell me what the location has been.

Got a call indicating it was RBC security and to call back the above number 800-420-4782. I called RBC back via the number on the back of my client card, and they said I had indeed been contacted by security and confirmed that my card had been used in a suspect machine and to change my PIN.

I suspect if you call that number back, they will try to convince you that it is legit. I, too, have been receiving calls from this number as well. But instead of calling this number( 800-420-4782) as they suggest. I call the number on the back of my credit card.
They have advised no issues with my card, no comments on my file that anyone from RBC has called me.

Received a call from this number today and they left an automated message saying my visa was compromised and to call back. I called the number on the back of my card and the actual bank said they never called me. And there were no issues with my visa. To be noted, I found out 2 hours earlier my debit card HAD be comporomised. ALWAYS call the number on your card!

Received a voice mail from Royal Bank to call this number as my credit card had been compromised.  I checked the number on Google and had my doubts it was legit so called the number on the back of my credit card.  Royal  Bank said the call was not from them and probably from a company fishing for more of my information and my card is not compromised as I called the authentic Royal Bank # and did not give out any information to the bogus company.
