- FleurdalisaMust've been American airlines. They called, and it did show up on notifications, and they left no message. Wouldve been nice if they did, as they cancelled my flight and i didn't know until i arrived at the airport to check in. I only found the number because it was in my phone log. Too late, though!
- PamGot a call 7/20 2am 2:10am 2:20am and if this is American Airlines, I am not scheduled to fly with them. Why not just leave a message the first time...........

- Sleepless in TexasI got two calls from this number in the middle of the night, one at 3:05 a.m. and the next at 3:13. The Caller ID said "Toll-Free Number" so I did not answer. If it was a flight notification from American Airlines, they had the wrong number; I have no AA flights scheduled.

- J| 1 replyWhy would I get a call from American Airlines, if I never made flight plans or flew on their airline in decades?

- LydiaI called the number on line for American Airlines to inquire about baggage requirements on a flight I had booked. After the initial automated greeting it asked some promotional product qualifying questions. Age, do you want to take advantage of a free medical alert service? I answered "No". Then it asked if I wanted to receive a 100.00 shopping voucher for the price of shipping 1.95? I am not an idiot, but I answered "Yes" simply because while I knew there was going to be a hook, the fact that it was through the AA number lent a little bit of credibility. There were 2 additional free gifts, on top of the voucher and yes all three come with their own individual hook and disclaimers spouted out at 3xs normal talking speed by a well rehearsed telemarketer. long story short, i will receive a 100.00 shopping voucher, good at pretty much any retailer, a 50.00 dining voucher good for a limited number restaurants, but ones that are pretty much everywhere, and a 1 year subscription to Shape magazine. The delivery is guaranteed within 24 to 48 hours and you have 9 days to call and cancel to promotional "hooks" to avoid being billed for the service using the credit card you paid the 1.95 shipping with. I took very detailed notes and asked the right questions and I WILL make the correct calls to cancel within the 9 days. Because of my line of work I am very familiar with the FDCPA regulations which govern business conducted by phone, so II know their limitations. Long story short (oh yeah, "short" expired about 75 words ago). Long story longer, these folks are counting on you not making those calls to cancel within the 9 days and then them billing you 35.00, 24.00, and 9.00 (all rounded from the actual price quoted) a month for the savings program something or other, the identity theft protection, and after the 1 year trial the subscription to Shape magazine. No doubt they pay pennies on the dollar for the vouchers which actually are probably legit, and they do not pay shipping because you pay the 1.95.
We will see how it all works out. lol Look for the rest of the story in 5 days.- Caller: American Airlines

- c replies to JProbably someone typo'd their number in their reservation and put your number in by accident.
- RichardPhoned me at work after I made a customer service request online, but as I'm in the UK they phoned long after I'd left for the evening. Didn't leave a message but hopefully will be able to talk to them later.
