they keep calling my cousin john cellphone and my mother house and hangup without the courtsey of letting anyone know who they are calling for my next complaint will be to the states attorney generals office and to the fcc

These idiots keep calling my cellphone asking for someone else. I have told them repeatedly to stop calling me. I am seriously considering contacting the fcc.

I recieved a call on my answering machine from this number. It was hard to here but I'm pretty sure the caller said he was from General Revenue.

the company is General Revenue Corp.  They are a collection agency.

I received a phone call from 800-436-5290 that was barely intelligible,
I had to listen to the message 3 times to even ascertain this phone number.
No caller ID showed on my screen. I was not able to understand WHO was
calling. Crazy phone systems, they should REQUIRE a caller ID!

What is this all about? They call at night and holidays.

They have the easiest collection job on the planet. I don't even know why they call people. They have access to state and federal records and can garnish you without even suing you (on government secured loans anyways)

I think it is General Revenue too. They have called 40 times, day and night for someone that I don't know and is not at this address. The dummies should at least check phone records. I tried once to call them and let them know they have the wrong number but was put on hold forever so not doing that again. My guess is with their technique they never collect a darn thing.

i just googled to see who these people were and now i see.  this lady called me asking for my ex-husband.  i got remarried and have a different last name so i asked how did you get my number. she said she looked it up on the internet.  hmmmm  i'm really tired of getting other people's collection calls.

The reason they keep calling your cell phone is that debtors lie. You can identify them properly at a number and a month later, they will lie to you saying it's the wrong number. If you calmly explain that it is in fact the wrong number, they're not going to call you. Time is money and calling a wrong number is time wasted.

The "dummies" do check phone records but often times the phone records aren't updated and are still listed to the debtor.

Never collect a thing with that technique, huh? Yeah right.

Seriously, these guys are low class.  All minorities and white trash garbage.  The people they call have no intention of ever paying them a thing and they're wasting both their and the debtors time.  But, then again, we are talking about lowdown pieces of [***] like debt collectors.  What should happen is a debt collector and a debtor should meet up out in the street and whoever walks back inside after the beating gets to keep the money.  Sounds fair to me.  It's cowardous to call people's families.  What a bunch of scumbags.

Scumbags?? We are not scumbags, the people that we are calling are, we have a job to do, is it our fault that you people out there don't want to pay your defaulted student loan?? The sad thing is if you would just pick up the phone and listen to what they have to say you would realize that we are here to help you get out of default.......... Garnish oh hell yeah, when you hang up on us I just smile find your POE call verify and by by, when I see that you're certified with the IRS I laugh, it could all be taken care of so easily, do you realize that there are programs out there that will even help people with low income, or not working at all??? But now you people don't even take the time to listen then you call screaming because we took your taxes or you're being garnished, news flash if you had picked up the phone and just listened it wouldn't have happened.... and it's not GRC that takes your taxes it's the government.. they give you money you don't want to pay it back so they will get it any way they can.............................. pick up the phone and listen or if they are calling for someone that you know, give them a number and just remember we are trying to help them get out of default.

It's not illegal to call on weekends or holidays, we can call from 8 AM - 9 PM 7 days a week every hour on the hour. For those of you that are so afraid of identity theft, we have all that info in front of us, but by law we have to make sure that we have the right person on the phone so that's why you are asked for the last four of your SS# or your date of birth, we're not trying to steal it, lol would you like it if we had the wrong person and gave out all your personal info?????? again people it comes down to listening to what that person has to say on the other end of the phone...................................

Sad for the people who don't pay or are not able to pay their bills.  It is still frustrating getting calls from collectors for people who you don't know and even after you have told them, they still call repeatedly.  Check your sources and info for some of it is outdated......Guess you have some more work to do......

Yes, this is about a student loan. When, someone in your family applies for one they have to give family numbers just in case on the app. therefore, the person they are trying to keep is in default on there student loan. And they will keep calling untill you pick up the phone and tell that they do not live here. and to put you on there no call list. By law if they call again then they are breaking the law. and you own them. Regards Lane

I doubt you collect anything calling people all day who don't even have jobs anymore, thanks to government that runs all the jobs overseas.  But calling me who is debt free and wasting my time not to mention your own, is really sad.  If you were good at your job and had any idea what you doing you wouldn't have to make so many random phone calls. And by the way creditors lie, and so do you.  You think you are so great and everyone else who may or may not owe on a past due debt is scum.  But keep calling me and I will tell you the same, I am not who you are looking for, this is my number now and I don't owe anyone anything everything I have is paid for I worked hard to make it that way. I don't need help from any bank or the government, thank you very much.

That's an unfair assessment of an entire company.  They're just doing a job.  I just spoke to a lady from General Revenue, and told her honestly that I knew the debtor she was asking for, but that it wasn't me.  She apologized and said she'd take my number off her list.  The real dirtbags are the debtors who give other people's phone numbers as their own.

Calls several times a week.
I'm hoping to get to "Press 1 to speak........", so I can inform them they are in violation of Do Not Call.
I've done that to others.
If it's a survey, I tell them I charge $XX an hour for research. That results in a disconnect.

These people have called me several times.  The first couple of times, there was no one there when I picked up the phone.  FINALLY, there was someone there.  She had my first name and asked me if I knew my neighbor and gave me a name I did not know and I told them so.

I am on the DO NOT CALL list and do not want people like this calling me to try to get me to "rat" on neighbors.  I don't care if they are debt collectors or not.  These are hard times and I wouldn't turn someone in even if I did know them.

I recieved a call from this number, referencing someone I've never even heard of.  Called back to let them know (I used to be in business-to-business collections, so I know how it is) and they were very professional and assured me they would not call again.
