This number is not affiliated with Wells Fargo. I called Wells Fargo today and they said this number is not one of theirs. They took down the information for this number and are going to send it to the fraud dept.

I called the 800-446-0664 number back, I didn't want to give a random machine information and there was no way to talk to a rep.  So, I called Wells Fargo customer service and spoke to a nice young guy named Damen, and it was Wells Fargo who called.  The charge they were hinky about was ligit, but it was good that they checked.

    So, it's Wells Fargo.

This is NOT a scam! If you get this message from this number, call the Customer Service number on the back of your Wells Fargo card and talk to their fraud department. There were two fraudulent charges on my card and Wells Fargo caught them so fast they weren't even posted to my online account information. This is a great service by Wells Fargo - DO NOT IGNORE THIS CALL!

This is a legitimate fraud line number from Wells Fargo.  There were three charges on my card that they thought were suspicous, but all were authorized.  One was to Boost mobile, one a gas station I don't normally frequent in a large city and the third to an automated ice vending machine for $6.00.  I really appreicated Wells Fargo checking with me even though everything was fine.  Way to go Wells.

This is a complete scam and possible identity theft.  They also ask you to call 8007235533 and give your account number.  Um...if you are stupid you would do that.

Whether or not this particular number is a scam, I'm not sure. I do know however that the last 2 times they have called, I have then called the official Wells Fargo number on their site and there was actual fraudulent activity on my account which needed to be removed. If you don't feel safe about calling this one, then call the official number on their site and tell the automated system you want a banker, it will still ask for your Account # and last 4 digits of SSN.

OK people ... it _IS_ Wells Fargo's fraud department .... BUT ... don't give into to them if they call you.  It is VERY easy to spoof caller ID and you never know who you are really talking to.  Just call them back at that number and talk to a representative -- most likely it is because of a charge on your card they want to verify is real and not fraud.  I HAVE gotten calls from scammers spoofing this caller id, and obviously if you don't have a Wells Fargo account then it is not real.

I would like to reiterate, this IS a Wells Fargo fraud prevention number. Call the main Wells Fargo number and ask them about this number. I just found out that someone tried to spend almost 1000 dollars at different places, luckily they were all declined and I had to verify with Wells Fargo. If you're worried about the number then just call Wells Fargo, there is no harm in that, and they will direct your call accordingly.

PS. I was told that the reason this phone number doesn't leave a message is because they don't want to alert the fraudulent person to be alerted, in case they change the phone number in your account.
