- Manda| 1 replyThey have repeatedly called me EVERY DAY since I cancelled my service with them. I have told them 28 times to stop calling and remove me from their list of approved contacts. Today I called them after 4 failed auto-dialed calls irritated me to the point of no return. I spoke with Amber H. in Acct Resolution Group who told me that the only way to stop the automated calls would be to submit a form asking to have your number removed from the list, and she said it would take up to 45 days for that form to go into effect. These people never tire of ways to screw you. They kept upping my alarm monthly fee every 6 months until I got so fed up with with that I cancelled the service and got a new company. Their customer Service is the WORST, and they will keep using the Auto-dialer to call EX Customer's until someone else also reports them to the FTC for Abuse!

- R. ScheinerAlmost two years ago we called Monitronics to cancel service because our system needed repair and they never came to repair it, and were told we couldn't do that ove the phone, we had to send a certified letter. Which we did. THREE TIMES! Then they said we needed to send ANOTHER letter to a different letter, which we did, THREE TIMES! All the while they continued to charge us for each month's service and send bills, and each month we would call them and go over all of this with them to no avail. Put us in collections too! They just will not stop calling and will not let you disconnect. Called again at 7:07 AM this morning, I have HAD IT but don't know who to report them to. If anyone knows who to report them to PLEASE let me know! I want to sue these people!

- plsI canceled my inferior home monitoring service with Monitronics, who apparently originate calls from this number, and they've robo-called me at least twice a day since then, around June 1, 2009, in spite of my callmenot.com device which intercepts the call and generates the no-longer-in-service tone. I can't report them to the FCC, as I actually did have a business relationship with them at one time, but I certainly can ignore them and urge anyone else reading this never to purchase an alarm system from them.

- mengman| 2 repliesI canceled the service with them after 4 years. Now I have them calling me 5 - 12 times a day. 7 days a week, they start calling at 8:01am and stop at 8pm.
I am taking this to the FCC and BBB since I have told them to stop calling me and to remove me from their list.
I sent them my cancellation letter and I am not going to send them any other letters. It is real simple, I tell them once to stop and that is all I am going to do. Their policy might be for me to send multiple letters asking them to not contact me, but my own internal policy clearly states that once service is canceled I no longer have a business relationship with them and there for I do not need or want communications from them.
Sending additional correspondence to Monitronics violates my policies and procedures.- Caller: Monitronics
- ElmoI cancelled my Monotronics service when I moved. They said they had to have the request to cancel in writing. So I sent them a letter. Then they started harrassimg me over the so-called "final bill" which I did not owe. I had paid them current up to the date I cancelled. The called me repeatedly. Then yesterday I got a call from them as though the were reporting that my alarm had gone off and they left a number for me to call them. What low lifes.
- w wCompany name is "Monitronics'. A fake monitoring system in association with "Platinum Protection", a door-to-door home security sales SCAM from Provo, Utah area which sends salesmen/installer teams out to various cities all over the nation during the summer. They do not even have a license to do business in some states. BBB has ordered them to cease and desist. Consumer Reports magazine cautions to never do business with DTD's. Plenty of other complaints found on Google.

- Debra JWow, I can't believe all of the negativity over Monotronics. I had this system installed at my home and I have been happy with it ever since. Monotronics makes the equipment and then they contract an outside source to install it. Monotronics is the equipment and monitoring part of the system. I like monotronics, and their website is legitimate. I scoped them out before installation. I havne't had any problems with them. Matter of fact, they just called me, they picked up motion in my house. My husband is closer than I am, we are both at work. The police have been notified by them, as well. I have no problems with this company!!!

- titiI don't take any phone call if its not local, received 8004479239 call, the person left message on my cell which I can listen what is about. I can not understand what is his name and what Co. he is calling from. Now I knew it form security system co. After two years with another Co. I have wrote a cancellation letter a month before and call the Co. before the contract end date. The Co.said I have submitted the letter too late so they extend the service for another year without my signature and said it's legal. The Co. keep talking to me won't cancall the sevice . I told them if they don't stop the service and taking the fee from my credit card. I will report the Co. to BBB. and tell on facebook. The Co. fineally cancelled the service, why as consumer we have to take abuse from the phone calls and not stop the services we're no longer needed.
All security co are the same. If you have home insurance that is good enough.- Caller: not clear

- jmkThe company has changed names 6 times and is now Montronics, which has changed again to Protection1, I cancelled as well and have not paid them in a while and all of a sudden there was an odd charge in my account, not the usual amount, and it all started up again. I am with another company who has actually kept their name since I signed on. I took care of the bank as an unauthorized payment and signed a do not pay them form. Now I am getting calls. Was informed I owe them 675.00. Hell will have to freeze over before I pay them anything

- WhoAreYouI got a phone call from this number and ignored it. Then I googled it and this is what I found. Now, they are calling me again and I don't know why.
My question is: how did they get my number? - WhoAreYouI got a phone call from this number and ignored it. Then I googled it and this is what I found. Now, they are calling me again and I don't know why.
My question is: how did they get my number? - mattGot a call last night from these scammers. They were calling to update my payment details so that my automatic payments wouldn't stop. Funny thing is is that I've never done business with this company, never owned a home and am a renter. They addressed me by first and last name. Don't believe the folks on this thread that they are just using out of date numbers for previous customers. Report this company to your AG office and better business bureau. This is a scam to take payment for services that were never ordered. This company are simply thieves.

- Never done business with youI received two automated calls from this number. I have never done any business with this company and do not have a monitored alarm system. My big dogs and Smith and Wesson will take care of the house. I have heard of this company before when reading about alarm company scams. The Google search for phone numbers is the best for finding out about crank calls since the government Do Not Call list is just a scam also.

- Patsi MoffattI am on the DO NOT Call list and still get calls repeatedly from this #. Any suggestions on how to sto[ it?
- K. MorelandGot a call on my office line about my alarm going off. That's funny being this is a business on the 16th floor of a 60+ floor building, lol. Googled to find all these complaints. Now I just want to call the line back to see what they say.

- ShayneI sent the cancellation letter to Monitronics and received the confirmation phone call this morning from an 866 number where they told me that they had to leave the service on for 30 days after the cancellation. I've been with them for six years and they've changed names three times since then. Here's my suggestion - never buy security from a Door to door salesman. I didn't know any better back then, but you do now.
Then the calls from this number started - first to my cell and then to my office. No messages were left at either number.- Caller: Monitronics
