Rings once or twice then nothing when I answer. When I've called back I get a "credit Card Fraud verification" and they ask me to enter my credit card number.

Yeah, Right. Someone please take these people to court and sue them

Rec'd call this morning inquiring about charges to my AKC Visa/Chase card.  Told me about several charges that I knew I did not make and said they would be removed.  Ask for my home address.  Is this legitimate?

This number showed up on my caller ID today.  They called 3 times and left 1 message saying they needed to verify charges on my cc.  They included the last 4 numbers on my card and that it was a SWA Rapid Rewards card.

I finally called the # back and didn't like that they wanted me to enter my whole cc #.  So, I called the # on the back of my card and entered the last 4 of my cc #.  Then, an automated message started reading off about 5 or 6 charges.  I was asked to enter 1 if all were legit, 2 if at least one was unrecognized, or 3 if none were legit.

So, just call the number on the back of your cc instead.

I got a call from this number, but didn't answer. They left a message and said my Chase account possibly had fradulent charges. When I called the number back it wanted me to enter my entire CC#, I didn't, and called Chase.

Actually, that phone number is legit.  But you should never call it anyway - there's no way of telling.  If there's a call about your credit card, call the number ON YOUR CREDIT CARD.

I received calls from this and it is legit.  To play it safe, I called the # on the back of the CC to verify that the number and issue was real.  It was.  Play it safe, if need be call a direct # to the Card.

I called them, and they wanted my entire card number.  Which is a horrible procedure, since it might make people comfortable with giving that information out to people who call claiming to be from Chase.

I explained that I wasn't going to give them that information, so they directed me to call the number on the back of my card and ask to be directed to the fraud department.  I did, and low-and-behold I reached the same guy.  But, when you reach them in this manner they only ask for the last four digits of your social security number (since you've already entered your account number at your banks initial prompt).

So, this particular number is legit - but don't ever give anyone you're not absolutely sure of your CC info.

Ditto, this appears to be a legitimate chase number. We got a legitimate call on fraudulent charges that were showing up.

all of the above are right.  it's from chase.  as many said, please call the number on the back of your card.  in fact, my chase credit card was missing.  they called to verify with me on two suspicious charges.  i would like to thank all of the above who said about chase.  otherwise, i would have been in a big trouble.

I thought the call itself was an obvious attempt at credit card number theft but it turns out it was legitimate. I called the general customer service number on the back of the card. Entities had tried to make several charges for thousands of dollars. The account was closed. This is a low limit card I use for online purchases.

I got a call from the number and called it back.  First thing it wanted was my full CC number - no way.  I sent Chase a secure email thru their portal and they confirmed that the call and number were legit,  Moron at store had punched in the wrong security code.  Sent Chase a blast to change their practices or I was looking for a new bank.
