This call showed up on my caller ID 3 minutes before a call from Countrywide, so I suspect that is who it was, but I don't know that for sure.

Repeatedly called my cell phone ALL DAY (800-923-3282), couldnt answer. Then I call them, the recording says "to speak to a live person, call 1-800-456-6565". When I called that number, the person said they're trying to sell magazines and they got my cell phone number from the internet. "Any time you send info by internet and provide your number, we get it".  Also, shockingly, she said "even if you submit your number on the Government's DO NOT CALL list, we still call."  Then, I asked her to remove my cell phone # from her call list because their calls take away from my cell phone minutes BUT before I could finish speaking, she spoke OVER me interruptingly and said "I can't look up your number so I have no way of doing that". About 1/2 hour after I got off the phone with this person, the 800# calls my cell phone AGAIN! This time, I answered.  They hung up on my after I said "hello" twice.  How irritating is that??  Guess we're all sh** outta luck, they can call whomever they want to, whenever they want to...including hanging up on you if they choose to!

The Company is called PERIODICAL SERVICE, and this ia a major scam. If you have the time read below.

I have unfortunately been a victim of a scam from this company. If you're familiar with the online game "Yoville" from Facebook, you would know about the so-called "YoCash" and the ways you can earn it if you don't want to use real money. When attempting to obtain this Yocash, I searched through the list of online offers. I came across an offer of 3 magazine subscriptions for only $1.98 for a total of 2 months. If I did not want to continue all I'd have to do is write Cancel on the bill, or call 1-800-422-5696 and that would take care of it. Otherwise, my credit card would be charged the full amount of $89.98 to cover a full year of 3 magazines of my choice.

What's the scam? It's not as easy as it sounds.

When you call 1-800-422-5696 you're then asked to call 1-800-456-6565 to speak to someone, when you do that, be prepared to be on hold for at least 30-40 minutes. After doing so someone finally answered, only to tell me they had no idea what offer I was talking about, and that they have never offered a trial for free magazines. I told them my CC had already been charged the initial amount of $1.98 from Periodical Service, so there's someone that knows about this offer. I was put on hold and was asked to provide my Member Account Number (I thought they didn't know what I was referring to) this number is shown in the confirmation page that prints out after you sign up. With this number the representative was able to find my account and proceeded to remove me from this offer so I wouldn't be charged. I called to next day to confirm this and the new representative, once again, did not know anything about this offer and in fact couldn't find any information with the account number I was given. After I told him that my bank will now neglect future payments for fraud purposes my information magically appeared and he notified me there was no record I had previously cancelled. He then entered my information and removed me from the list. When I asked to receive this information in writing, he instructed me to write a letter to his supervisor Jessica Richards and that I should fax it to (913) 248-0727. I did and I've waiting for this Jessica to get back to me with the written notification.

So PLEASE learn from my huge mistake. Do not sign up for any of these online offers. And if you're trying to obtain Yocash from the game Yoville do not sign up with any offer, specially this one. I will continue to insist calling Ms. Jessica Richards until I receive a written confirmation. Hopefully this will resolve the problem and my account will not be charged the $89.98

I have recieved 3 magazines but never subscribed to any of them. I have not given them any payment information, and began calling Subco today. I'm not very nice when companies pull this crap and have the resources to use legal services. I will continue to post to let everyone know how this comes out.

I do not have the number I called to cancel last month, but I did talk to someone and they said I would not be charged or receive any more us magazines. So today I got another us magazine and a brides magazine and I do not want either of them. One is for3.99, and the other one is 5.99 How can I get these stopped before I get billed for them?
