A Mr. Harden calls from 800-4600082 ext 1131, saying is calling from the legal fraud department in regards to reference # 5256330 and is from CPS and if I don't call back he will take it to the courts, and he is leaving the message on a message cell phone, but he doesn't say what it is regarding or give a dollar amount.

Claiming to be CPS named Cathy at ext. 112, said that I had a case # but tried to get information from my friend. SHe did not give out information but found the call very strange.

A relative recieved a call from a Jason Woods X113,, said he was from CPS,,,,(thinking Child Protective Services in Calif!) She was very upset! My church was also contacted and the same threats were made! Later I found out it was Collection Professional Services 36101 Bob Hope Drive, Suite E5-302, Rancho Mirage, Calif. 92270.......Fax 1-760-343-5155 These tactics are animal and harmful to everyone! They must be stopped!

I received a call at my job this morning from this number, stating something about legal stuff and return the call or else at ext. 116.  I don't know who this people are.

got a call from David Obrien said he was from CPS. same case numbers as above and said to call back or else!!!!

I Got a call today from Mr. Woods at X113. Stated he needed to speak to my husband regarding his case. He said he's from CPS. Also stated my husband needs to call him back today or else TODAY IS HIS DAY. I thought wow that sounds pretty serious. I'm so glad I found this message forum regarging this #. What a SCAM!!! I looked up the # that showed on my caller ID and it's from Palm Desert, CA

Got a call today for my wife... copany name was CPS. They've tried to call before.

I RECEIVED A CALL AT WORK FROM STAN SMITH, AND THEY SENT IT TO VOICE MAIL AND HE SAID HE WAS FROM CPS AND I NEED TO CONTACT HIM AT 1-800-460-0082 X 107. I GOT VERY UP SET BECAUSE UNDER THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTION ACT, ONCE YOU INFORM ANY COLLECTOR NOT TO CONTACT YOU AT YOUR EMPLOYER EITHER VERBALLY OR IN WRITING THEY HAVE TO LEGALLY STOP!! BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES, HOWEVER IT'S COLLECTION SERVICE. SO AFTER INVESTIGATING AND FOUND THIS WEB SITE, I WROTE A LETTER AND FAXED IT TO ATTN: STAN SMITH INFORMING NOT TO CONTACT ME AT WORK BECAUSE HE ALMOST LOST ME MY JOB, BELOW IS A COPY OF MY LETTER:

My cuzin got a call from stan smith and called themselves cps as in child protective services from 1-800-460-0082 ext. 107 so thank goodness to her this. I knew i hurt no child so i never really worried about it.

I am dealing with the same man, mr.harden and i am concerned that having googled this number and found these posts linked to a fraud company if i have been scammed out of hundred of dollars and still owe the loan to the original creditor. he called threatening me that i would be put in jail if i did not make payment arrangements. i have a payment due and now wonder if i should continue making the last few payments i have left. i keep getting statements in the mail on the original loan and when i called to ask him about it he said to ignore them that once the debt was paid to him in full it was considered done. what do i do now???

I received a letter from CPS stating that I owed them $275. This was from a internet payday loan that had been turned over to Capital Collections. CC was calling me at my job, calling my ex-husband and his wife (don't even know how they got their number) and continuously calling my house. They left very detailed messages about my personal situation. I contacted a consumers lawyer who then tried to go after them. CC must be pretty slick because these lawyers could not even locate them. The only way they contacted them was via email. Well the emails must have worked because CC never contacted me again but now CPS has sent this letter saying that they are pursuing this debt and will take it to the fullest extent of the law. This debt is well over a year old. I thought that after so long it would be hard for them to pursue anything, These dumb ****** are now calling my cell phones trying to be slick using non working numbers. What can I do? Do they have a legitimate case?

Melissa at CPS called and left 7 voicemails on my cell phone, 5 times on my work phone, 4 voicemails on my siblings cell phone in an 8 hours time span.  I called this Melissa back and asked her to send me a bill if I truly owe this debt.  She said I have to take care of this over the phone right away because it was getting close to the end of the month and if this is not pay for then they will send it to court.  I got angry and told her if she's not going to send me an invoice to prove that I owe this amount then to please stop calling me at work or my cell phone because it very disrupting.  I explained my health condition to her and asked her not to call me because it stresses me out.  Her response, "I'LL WILL CONTINUE TO CALL UNTIL I GET WHAT I WANT!!!!!"  and she disconnected the calls.  I'm seeing my attorney tomorrow about this company.

Saying they were calling from cps  i was really worried i have children and i thought really who has said this about me, so i later found out this was collection professional services and it was a scam,,, his ext was 205--- must be stopped

They have been calling my mom about my so, her grandson, saying he owes a pay by loan, $630, its been for two years, and he's going to get arrested.  My mother said she's pay it, i said NO and took over.  Something told me not to pay it, her name was Julia Roberts, what a B-----  They go by CPS Check Protection Services and Collection Professional Services, the letter even looks BOGUS.....numbers are 1800-460-0082, ext 134 or 760-423-1100.  I looked them up and look what I FOUND OUT, THEY ARE FRAUDS...I cursed her out and she said she would continue to call me everyday and harass me, she's been calling non-stop, and my mom and my son.....I'm called the Attorney General, police and ANYONE and EVERYONE to report this

received a call from SASHA at 760-423-1100 saying she was from CPS and she was looking for a relative of mine who listed me as a reference and then asked how i was related to the person. i stated if she listed me as a reference then it will state who i am. she was very rude and short and gave me no info other than to tell my relative she has until 10/13 to call 800-460-0082 ext 134 and she provided a case #.

FULL OF CRAP..This is CPS Investigations which is actually the Marauder Corporation. Marauder also does business as Collection Professional Services, National Capital Recovery, Nationwide Capital Recovery and Bill Collector in a Box software.

What a SCAM!  What ever you do, do NOT call these people!
I got a call from Sasha at 1-800-460-0082 ext 134 from CPS Company. They say I owe a payday load from 03/24/05 of $400.00. She asked for my social secutysecurity number and birth date to verify the case information. When I asked her to tell me the last for digitals of the social security number to verify if it was mine, she started yelling at me ! Now I have a supervisor calling my work and calling my co-workers extensions trying to get information on me

received a letter in the mail telling me i owe 996.00 dollars. spoke to a mr. thompson and he said paperwork will be sent upon request. sent that letter out yesterday and am waiting until that comes to see what i am going to do.
