The 800-464-4944 number is just a voice mail trap from General Revenue Corporation.  They are trying to get you to leave your phone number so that they can collect a debt.  Their real phone number is 800-234-1472.  You can call that number and get your phone number off their calling list.  It's a clever trap, but not clever enough - if you are willing to play around with the phone key pad a little, you can get to voice mail and find the real number.

I didn't answer initially, they left message and I called back. Man said that they were attempting to collect a debt and asked for Shawn.  Told him he had the wrong number.  He told me he would note the records and apologized.

looking for my grandson just gave reference number and ladys name ,did not pick up and won't call them back,i figured it was a bill collector /very angry that he gave my phone number seeing i haven't seen him in over 15 yrs

They called for someone with the same last name and assumed all people with the last name are related. They do google searches and it wasn’t someone I knew but they hung up as I was asking to hame my number removed
