I just got the same thing a few minutes ago. A lady said her manager had her contact me, she put him on the phone. He said I owed an old payday loan and they were going to attach my wages, I don't owe anyone and I haven't done a payday loan in almost 10 years. They did have my ss#, I told them I was sorry but I don't owe anyone and did not verfiy that was my ss#. I have gotten these kind of calls before but never with an african american accent they are usualy foreign accent. Then I hung up.

I received a call from this number and was told that I owed for a payday loan that I NEVER took out.I would NEVER contact anyone aobut needing money especially this type of business. I explained that I did not have money to settle this debt and I was told they were "willing to work with me" in resolving this matter. Yeah right. I told the lady on the phone that I know this is a scam and I have filled out reports to the Attorney General and filed a report with the FTC. I am not letting these scum get any money. I have documentation to support my decision and that I did not take out a pay day loan. Stand up for yourselves, do some homework, collect data that will support your innocense.

I just had the same call and same conversation regarding wage deduction. I didnt give them anything but my name and hung up, as I dont owe any loans to payday places.I did receive one of these about one year ago , but from a foreign caller.
I did not get thier name but it was the Aferican American voice described in the other post, If you get this call , please turn the phone number over to your state Attorney General office.
Thanks ...and again, if they call you dont tell them anything!

I work for a law office. One of our client enroled with a pay day loan & we received collection notice from Recovery Services, LLC. Case manager Tina Riley Ext-233.

We worked out a settlement and agreed to pay $300 to settle in full. Gave them our checking details, but thay were unable to run. Then asked for a card. We authorized them to charge $300 from our card on 10/02/2012.

But on the very next day I found there were several charges made from our card, like $2160+$240+$396+$501.22+$300 total of $3597.22. Except of $300 all the others were unauthorized debit.

Spoke to Tina Riley & she transfered me to Ms Williams Ext-5000 one of there team member from finance dept. Told her the situation & she assured me to revese back the $3297.22 with in one week, but till now I'm still negotiating with them for the refund.

I got a call from a Miss Wales from this number at x3000.  Was told that they were giving me an opportunity to settle a payday loan that I defaulted.  As they will not provide any documentation from the original creditor or the contact information I declined to take them up on their offer.  I was told that they'll move onto the next step.  I didn't ask what that was.  So...does anybody know how far they will go?

I just received the same phone call with the extension number and also the refrerence number to get back with them with. He said his name was Tony Garza. Seems to be a pattern here doesnt it? These people are so smart at trying to scam people that if they used that brain for good, they could probably solve our economic problem!

They called me at work today saying the the govenor was behind the, Jessie Williams, that my license would be suspended and 25% of my wages garnished.  They don't have any information to give except my information and an ip address but can't say where and when the loan took place.  Mrs. Daniels left the message, Mrs. Williams spoke with me.

Don't be afraid of these people. I too have been bullied by this, mostly anonymous, group of unscrupulous collection agents. I am almost positive that they are each independent freelance debt collectors that are paid on a commission only basis . From my research I have found that each agent makes outbound calls from offsite locations(each agent can work from his/her preferd location; home) on behalf of a notoriously aggressive bunch: Native American payday lenders. Check out this article from the huffington post:  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mobileweb/2012/ ... _n_1401155.html

Bottom Line: DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR FINANCIAL OR ANY PERSONAL INFO! Anyone with a computer and $49 can find out everything they need to know to sound as if they are entirely legit and in my case they even threatend to sue me as the man said " Im calling from New York outside of the Federal courthouse and I'm under instructions to file a lawsuit against you on behalf of _____ insert payday loan company here, but if you give me your checking account information I can draft the amount you owe directly and you can avoid this lawsuit". I was so entertained by this act that I actually strung him along. I told him I was an attorney too and that I'd never heard of anyone filing a case in Federal Court for less than $5,000. I then explained to him that 1) District Attorneys represent the state and only prosecute cases in criminal matters. It was laughable! I suggested he watch more " Law and Order" if he was going to continue his illegal collection methods. I also warned him that if he did persue these unlawful collections that he might just be the one who winds up being sued!

I received a call from this number today, identifying themselves as Bahama Marketing Group. The man, African American, advised that they have a legal complaint against my social security number and they'd begin to garnish my paycheck and gave my current employer's name. I asked them who the loan was through and he said he didn't have that information, only that the account had been turned over to them for collection purposes and that I needed to handle it or they'd pursue legal matters. I asked how much the loan was for and from whom the loan was and he said $500 but they couldn't tell me where the loan was taken out because "That information changes daily". Ummmm - no. Any debt collector knows who their client is. Moreover, there are usually not claims against your SSN... if the courts want you, they send you a letter to appear in court (at least to my knowledge of how it works... I've never stepped foot into a courtroom).  At any rate, these companies prey on people who've taken out a loan before and try to scam you by inflicting fear. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!! Also, check your credit report to make sure you know what's on there and to find out if you're a victim of identity theft of any kind. These people are scum!

Wow that's scarey...I received a VM at my job and on my cell from Recovery Services threatening to garnish 25% of my wages along with suspending my drivers license for an unpaid payday loan.  I blocked number on my cell along with reporting it to the FTC.  If I owe a debit I would prefer to pay the creditor directly instead of dealing with a debit/recovery service because I have done that before just to find out that they along with 4 to 5 other companies bought the same debit.

I got the same call today, the woman identified herself as Miss John but didn't say who she worked for. The message called me by first name only and said that she was calling about a wage assignment that has been placed against my name. Usually collections identify themselves as bill collectors and last time I checked, they have to get a court order to garnish me.
I tried to call the number back and get a busy signal.

I received a voice mail from this phone number today, stating they were processing a garnishment and for me to contact them right away. I called back and the person I talked to was very rude, stating that I needed to talk like a human being to her or she was just going to process it without anything. She said the sent documents already to my address, which when she read it back was incorrect. I was upset because she wouldn't tell me what it was about. I have had payday loans before, but NEVER directly deposited into my account, which she claimed it was. She then hung up on me, saying she was going to go ahead and just do it. I called back and asked to speak with a manager, who told me the same thing. I told her I never had any money directly deposited into my account, and she asked if maybe someone got a hold of my social security number (which they DID have). I told her that could have happened, but I would have noticed if money just appeared in my bank account from an unknown source. She asked me to fax her my bank statement to verify, which of course I did not do. She said she phone numbers just don't come out of the air to call and make false claims to people so she was just going to process the garnishment and end the call. I told her I would turn this call in as a scam and she said it wouldn't matter, I could do what I wanted.I told her to send me whatever documents she had before she processed anything, and she said she would, so we'll see if I ever get anything in the mail. DON'T FALL FOR THIS.

I already posted, but just curious: What was the reference number you all received for this number? My case number was 761239. I just wonder if maybe they aren't giving everyone the same line of BS to get account information.
